On Friday, February 2nd I went in to Petland on Shavano park in San Antonio, Tx and purchased a lilac and tan male English bulldog who was priced at $5400. I was told he was a *** puppy and was given his pedigree. The manager and manager in training had me wait quite a long time due to the fact that the manager needed to train the trainee on a transaction like this. During the conversation of what vaccinations he had gotten etc it was mentioned again that he was *** and would come with full rights not limited rights paperwork. I purchased the puppy and headed home with his paperwork which was about 3hrs away. I waited for the email on his information and on the financing information which never came. I later discovered they had attached an old account with old information to this puppy which I could not understand if the paperwork I filled out was with all the new information. I have purchased 4 puppies in the past 9 years from petland and never had this issue before. I called petland wanting to update my information and advised them I was not given the puppy registration form for ***. I was told that the breeder would register him and all I had to do was provide a name I chose ******************************* or ************************************* if the first was taken. Weeks went by and still I had not received the puppies *** paperwork. I called on Tuesday, February 20 wanting to follow up with the manager about the *** papers, I was told she was not in but I left my name and number so that she could return my phone call. It is now the 28th and still no *** papers, no phone call not even an email. I just want what I was sold which is his *** registration number for my puppy because after all that is why he was so expensive.Business response

Our apologies on the time it takes for the *** registration to be completed and on the lack of correct communication from the store employee, but this is a unique color for an English Bulldog - Lilac & Tan. Ordinarily, *** registrations can be done on the *** website, but when the color is not an ordinary color, the *** requires the registration form and pictures of the puppy to be mailed to them. Unfortunately, that takes a bit longer than if the color was ordinary. The *** registration for the puppy, with full registration rights, has been sent to the ***. That registration and new updated pedigree will be mailed directly by the *** once complete. We will reach out to our contact at the *** to see what stage this is in and give an update.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me pending that I do receive his paperwork in the mail. Contact was attempted by the business and it sounds like they did get him registered but only after my complaint. I thank you very much for your time and efforts.
