Dear BBB, On 02/14/2022 according to my bank statement I got an oil change at Kwik Kar in ******* TX. I paid $103.29 for an oil change and for them to run something through my engine to clean it out. On 03/14/2022 my engine blew, I got my car towed to a shop where I purchased the car due to mechanics on site, I get informed by service manager and the mechanic that looked at my car, the engine blew due to the oil filter not being installed properly. The oil filter was loose causing all my oil to drain from my engine. The manager Mike stated that it was not their fault, my vehicle had to have been burning oil which went through 3.5 quarts of oil during inspection where the vehicle is located. The 2nd (area manager) we spoke to said they would not pay for repairs because my engine light was on due to a timing issue. My 5-year-old vehicle never had problems before. All codes from check engine light were linked to oil starvation due to the oil filter not being installed properly. The business has NOT tried to resolve this issue.
