2021, I started having issues with my boat, and asked ***s dockside to look at it and diagnose the problem. Symptoms were during time on the lake and turning on/off the boat, it wouldn't start until cooled down, running a little sluggish. *** spent 2 hours idling the boat checking engine parameters and claimed other than a couple engine spikes he had trouble duplicating the complaint. However *** claimed the fuel pump was failing, that it was a bad mercruiser engine design and needed to be upgraded, because replacement may fail again after a few years. My response was to make the repairs so the boat will run as its suppose to. Unfortunately, the parts have been unavailable until just recently. Over the winter *** checked in with me with parts updates and asked about us running the boat. I usually responded that we have taken the boat out for short rides but he must go very slow because the boat won't throttle up. ***'s usual response was that the fuel pump was getting worse. So now approx. 10 months later *** calls and says the parts are available should he get them and fix my boat, of course my response was yes. *** did get the parts and installed them, then followed up with your boat is fixed and ready and a invoice for $3093,53. Being excited. we sent *** ******* and decided to head out and check out how well our boat was running. The boat runs sluggishly and wont throttle up. We called *** from the lake, and we said he was going out of town for a week and will check it out upon return. We decided to take it else where to have it evaluated, and ended up paying for a tune up that resolved all issues.After heated discussions with ***, we believe he steered us into the purchase of the fuel pump, that he was unable to properly diagnose fuel pump failure, the he never test drove before or after the parts were installed. We asked *** to give us a fair resolution,we offered to pay parts only. He only wants full *******. Claims tune up was a secondary issue
