Additional Information for FAM Organics, LLC

On June 8, 2022, BBB contacted FAM Organics, LLC regarding advertised claims on their website:  https://famorganics.com.

Specifically, BBB requested FAM Organics, LLC to substantiate or discontinue testimonials advertised on their website alleging health and cessation claims including “Flash forward to today, and I truly couldn’t live a day without CBD. It has changed my life. I no longer have cramps, anxiety, or insomnia.”

BBB Code of Advertising States: In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it is not genuine and does not actually represent the current opinion of the endorser. If a consumer’s experience represented in an advertisement is not the typical experience of those using the product or service unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses what the expected results will be.

FAM Organics, LLC also advertises several health benefit claims for their products including:

“CBD oil is commonly combined with a carrier oil such as MCT (coconut) oil, grapeseed oil, hempseed oil, or extra virgin olive oil. When the CBD is missed with a carrier oil and bottled it is called a tincture. Tinctures are sold in various concentrations and are taken sublingually. At Fam Organics, we use MCT (coconut) oil. MCT (Medium, Chain Triglycerides) increase bioavailability helping CBD reach its highest potential.  BBB Code of Advertising states: The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.

BBB Code of Advertising also states claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.

BBB requested FAM Organics, LLC to provide evidence from recent, reliable, and competent studies or other objective data which may include scientific findings, FDA approvals, clinical studies, or other objective data to substantiate the claim or discontinue the advertised claims to address BBB’s concern.

As of July 8, 2022, FAM Organics, LLC failed to respond to BBB's requests to modify, substantiate or discontinue the advertised claims.
