This company was one of 6 companies from which I took proposals to install a whole-house water filtration system. The requirements were simple: a whole-house filtration system (not "just" a softener) and a reverse osmosis (RO) system for the kitchen sink. The faucet for the RO system needed to exactly match the color of the existing main water faucet of the same sink. David from Custom Filtration Systems came to my home to provide his offer. I was open and shared with him that we are taking proposals from six companies to then decide on the best solution. His offer included a whole-house system and RO system for $3,880. He promised that the faucet would exactly match the color of our existing faucet and we confirmed this with him another time before he left that day. His offer also included a no-tax option if we paid everything in cash to which he further stated that it would need to be actual cash and not a check which sounded nefarious. He further stated that we would have to see if permits are required but they have previously installed systems without having the permits even though it is not allowed but just to move things along quicker. Given their price was very competitive, I still decided to move forward with David and his team. Installation was scheduled for a Sunday. On Thursday, I sent David a text to confirm that they be ready on Sunday (to include having an exactly matching RO faucet). He confirmed that everything is on and all materials and the faucet will be ready. Friday evening David calls me to tell me that they only have a few faucet options and they may not match so I had him come Saturday to check. The faucet did not match and they were unable to resolve the situation. David actions and promises were misrepresenting the firm's abilities and he clearly just wanted me off the market. This is highly unethical and even illegal. I recommend staying away from this firm and spending a bit more with someone reputable which is what I did.
