On August 21-22, 2023, Eagle Eye Roofing (owner: Jason ******) installed a new roof on my property located at **** **** ***** ****** ********* ** *****. Unfortunately, during the course of this installation, a roofing nail penetrated a water line in the attic, resulting in significant water damages to the attic and half-bath located on the property. Also, during the install, paint to the front trim of the house was also damaged by the overspray of black paint applied to the flashing. The worker did not use gaffer's tape to try and mask the area. The incident has caused substantial inconvenience, property damage, and financial loss. I have contacted Jason ****** and his office manager Amber numerous times to pay my estimated expenses of $5,058.29, of which I have committed more than $2000.00 of my own funds so far to various contractors and remediation. So far, they have not responded. I also note that on the contract I signed with Eagle Eye Roofing, they designate themselves as BBB accredited with an A+ rating. However, I see from the BBB website that they actually are not accredited and have a history of a 1-star rating. I hired them based on their web advertising and contract, and find this to be a case of misrepresentation.Initial Complaint

03/03/23 $24k for roof replacement to home and garage. The new roof is leaking and I've contacted them and were assured they would check on it. I sent a video but now there are other areas showing issues with a roof that leaks perhaps more areas. It is now over two months but I shouldn't have to act on the warranty since it's a new build. I'm unsure how to proceed and not even checked the garage for faulty replacement. I didn't negotiate the price but now the issues are upending our lives still long after the before/after inside repairs and potentially a complete redo again. This company has great reviews and I wanted to support local business. I'm smelling moisture inside my house, all rooms, one story, related to an unknown amount of new damage. Only rain and hard rain has revealed partial issues. Again not even addressed the garage. I paid in full same day and perhaps that's the "finished" attitude and delay of service. I'm an older single woman and feel/felt not abused but disrespected, underserved as a consumer who chose this company to replace my roof. Now I need a new roof replacement and repairs of the underlayment and internal ceiling, walls, mold again.Business response

A warranty inspection was completed for this customer, and they do not have a roof leak but do have a chimney problem. There are cracks in the stone of the chimney that are allowing water into the home. That’s not in our scope of work and not what we do. We provided a tarp as a courtesy and she’s been advised to call a professional chimney company.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
I had an issue with the response page.
The new roof leaks and more issues than before the roof was replaced. I am getting the fireplace chimney repaired tomorrow. Before the roof was installed I didn't have damages all the way into the kitchen and other possible areas. Both sides downslope from the fireplace perimeter.
If the company had addressed something could be wrong and anticipate possible issues. Their professional team's eyes on my roof before during and after the build. I cannot get on the roof and it's beyond my knowledge. Eagle Eye Roofing claims it's beyond their "scope" of knowledge.
Once the old was removed it should have been obvious to say something and stop, question and tell their boss Jason Harley something. Not contacting me for over a month is ridiculous. I paid in full and they rushed the job or so it appears.
I could have gotten anyone to do my roof for much less money but assumed their professionals and expected some due diligence, education, accountability and now responsibility.
If they deny a full replacement of the damaged underlayment and other damage mold etc. Since it was rush build. Now I fear they will or not do right by me and own their mistakes.
How could a roofing company be in business (how many years?) and never have this happen before? At least see something is wrong during construction and not address it? Now it's worse and affected larger area. My family are again, still subjected to mold damages and future health problems.
All that time waiting for Eagle Eye Roofing has ruined a brand new (no haggle, paid full price) roof.
Regards,
