Company built my wood deck. None of the wood was ground contact and all of it should have been. The workmanship was poor quality and they didn't finish it, didn't stain and seal it. They built upon the existing frame, which was ground contact, except for replacing 2 joists, which will very shortly rot and affect the integrity of the deck. They used scrap wood under the lattice. Don't know what it is and it's touching the ground. The long step is touching the ground and not ground contact. Water stands on it. It's not built to standard. I know exactly how many boards they used and what they cost. Even without a contractor's discount, the cost of the materials and labor was no more than $3000 and they charged me $8,750. We did what we were supposed to do. We gave her a price and she loved the price, we did the work and she loved the work. Then she had some more people come by once the job was done and gave her a bunch of ideas and then she decided she didn't like it. She's just one of those customers that can't be pleased.
We did everything we were contracted to do. I've been doing this all of my life and I've never had this happen.
