February of last year (2021), during the winter storm in the Dallas area we were without power. After the storm, we discovered that our septic system was not fully operational. We contacted HOPCO and they came out and rewired our septic system so that it could work properly. We were told that this fix was temporary and that the electrical lines would be buried at a later date. I called a few months after the rewiring to inquire about when the lines would be buried due to my concern about possibly severing them when I mowed. I waited because I knew they were inundated with septic malfunction emergencies from the storm. I was told that someone would come out for months. They even completed one of the contracted servicing appointments and left the wires exposed. I called and asked why they did not bury while they were here and the response was "I don't know." Apparently, a few months after the storm, one of their visits entailed services that I did pre-approve and wasn't made aware of until months later when I received a bill for $400. I called for an explanation multiple times. Once they came out to bury it, it was described to me that the wiring was done incorrectly and that new wiring would cost $750 to install along with a new box. I paid for it and moved on. I did ask for an explanation about the $400 bill and none was given. The owner indicated that he would get back to me and never did. I have since secured another septic company and based on the explanations given, certain basic maintenance seems to have not been completed. This might be part of the reason the company has not gotten back to me. Filters were not cleaned properly and broken internal parts were left in the system. Bottom line, I don't want to have to pay for something that wasn't done or wasn't done correctly.

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/03/30) */ He does still owe $45 for the float we put on, which he has not paid for. He did pay for the control box and rewire which was $750, if this work had not been done correctly then it would have been backing up in his house. We don't have a clue what $400 invoice he is talking about. We did have to put a pump on with the float which was a total of $470 but he did not want to pay and had another company come and put a new pump on and so we picked up our pump and took that $425 off the invoice. Sounds like he is wanting something for nothing. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/03/31) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No comment. We've moved on.
