On August 5, 2022, I received an eye exam and then ordered a pair of glasses. The clerk went through the options and we paid for the glasses. When they arrived and were picked up, within minutes I noticed that there seemed to be a problem. After living with them for a few days, I returned them to Temple Vision and complained about the glasses. It was soon explained to my wife and I that the new glasses had been made with "progressive" lenses (bi-focals). I then explained that I had not ordered progressive lenses. I wear prescription reading glasses, prescription shades and prescription eyeglasses and carry all three with me everywhere I go. I have never worn bi-focal glasses and have never wanted any at any time. When the replacement glasses arrived and were picked up on August 29, 2022, I asked about the refund of the difference in cost between the two glasses. I was told no refund would be made because I had authorized the progressive lenses. That is a lie. Two employees at Temple Vision insisted that the option for progressive lenses were "discussed" with me. That *** be true but at no point did I authorize that option, nor would I ever be tempted to do so as I do not desire having progressive lenses. The clerk who adamantly insisted that I had approved that option was the very one who made the original mistake. It was her who "ticked" the box for progressive lenses, without my approval. She then had the temerity who suggest that "perhaps" my wife and I had been "confused". What gall! Not only did she make a mistake that cost $327, but then had such low regard for a customer that she insulted us as well. I will never darken their door again.I want the difference in cost of $327 refunded to me and an apology for the shabby treatment. Others should be aware of the "shell-game" con these people are pulling off.

I watched the video of the transaction, and everything that was on the glasses was laid in front of the patient and explained.  The person was given a detailed receipt with all the prices and there was nothing hidden.  This would have been the time to mention there was something wrong.  There was no deceit on our end.  We are sorry the transaction did not go as expected.

I am rejecting this response because: That sounds like the typical sort of deflection one might expect from someone in the wrong.  I stand by my assertion that I never authorized the option of progressive lenses for the eyeglasses that I purchased from Temple Vision.  I wonder how their "video" might stand up in court.  Perhaps, we will find out the answer to that soon.   They are liars if they cling to that claim that I approved that option.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Good day ****************, I want to let you know that Temple Vision did reach out to me last week and did refund the cost of the progressive lenses.  I have waited to inform you of this until I could actually see the refund in my records.  And it now appears that they did refund the difference.  Of course, there was no apology from them, but I am glad that my efforts to get the refund were finally successful.   Thank you and the BBB for your help in reaching that goal.

      Regards,
