My car was repossessed on 12/28/23 while we were out to dinner. I did everything I was supposed to do in regards to contacting the bank as well as the towing company to get our personal items out of the vehicle until we were able to make the necessary payments to get the vehicle back (considering the holiday). After calling multiple times to plead that we needed my 3 childrens carseats out of the vehicle and my husbands ONLY truck key to his vehicle, they have refused to be helpful because it is out of their designated hours to release property. So they dont care that my children have to miss appointments and events because we are unable to safely transport them and they dont care that my husband has to miss work because he cant get his vehicle keys.Business response

Our days we release property at our ******* location are Monday and Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We were closed on New Years day.Initial Complaint

My car was towed by First Call when repossessed by my lender. When I arranged to pick up my vehicle I was told that no one was working at the yard it was towed to and that I would have to wait for a call from a driver sometime between 5pm and midnight. I was notified that I could pick up my vehicle sometime around 9:00 p.m. when I arrived at my vehicle it was dark in the yard and there was no light or inspection offered. However I immediately drove my vehicle to a gas station and the very first thing I noticed was that the bumper on the driver side front was dislodged. I then noticed that when driving the vehicle and making any type of turn the vehicle was making Extremely Loud rubbing noises. I immediately notified the yard. No one responded. When I did reach someone the next morning they told me to call my lender. They offered no solution. They have denied all responsibility. I was forced to file with my own insurance company and the damage was in excess of $6,500. There's body damage as well as transmission and axle damage from improper towing. First call refused to even provide their insurance company name. They have refused to cooperate in any way. They say they have pictures of pre-existing damage but refuse to provide said pictures. I have been in a rental car for a month and a half. At my own expense. My vehicle is still not ready because it's waiting on an axle. I will have to pay $499 for a deductible and increased Insurance costs.Business response

This vehicle was towed correctly. The cosumer drove the vehicle off the lot with no problems. A condition report and release was signed before leaving the lot stating the vehicle was fine.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I was made to pick up my vehicle after dark, at almost 9pm. I suspect this was arranged on purpose because you were aware of the damage. The lot was dark. There was no opportunity to inspect the vehicle nor had i driven it when i signed whatever the driver handed me. I did not in any way feel safe in the situation. I signed so i could leave. I drove immediately to the QT less than a mile away. I took the initial pictures of the bumper damage there. I immediately messaged and called the tow company. I submitted the report the next day to *****************. You have said that there are pictures of the damage that was, you say, already there. If that is the case, please provide those images. You say that there are images of the car being towed or how it was loaded. If that is the case, please provide those images. If you provide those images this case could be closed. My transmission was fine prior to it being towed. I have now been without a vehicle for almost 2 months. In a rental car. The damage was 100% caused by improper towing. Provide the pictures.
