On Sat 11/06, some friends and I attended a concert at Silver Saloon. When leaving a tab open, Silver Saloon required that the patron leave both their card and their ID with the bartender. The bartender then paperclipped the two items together along with the patron's receipt. This personal information was then left out behind the bartenders, easily seen by anyone ordering (especially if someone used their phone's camera to zoom in). On Mon 11/08, two members of our group discovered that their card information had been stolen, resulting in $500 being charged to one of the accounts. While both have filed complaints with their banks and have turned off the cards, this is an outrageous practice that makes it incredibly easy for identities to be stolen. When a member of our group contacted the business, Silver Saloon replied: "I'm sorry you had an issue with our process. We have been operating this way for 20 years and not had an issue with fraud. What is the name of the person who had fraud? We will need to check into it and figure out what happened. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience." While I am glad that they apologized, it is mind-boggling to me that they did not acknowledge that their practice could easily result in fraud. Based on their statement that they've not had an issue with fraud, I believe that we might be the only ones who have contacted them about this. I believe this is a faulty practice that could, and has already, resulted in illegal activity.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2021/12/02) */ I'm sorry to hear she filled a complaint, especially because the friend she is referring to not only did not get charged extra or have any steel their information, they did not even pay for the drinks that they consumed. We have a picture of their account that shows we ran the tab total and the bank declined it, they told our bartender to run it again and again the bank declined it. They let the manager take a picture of his ID and credit card to run it on Monday but they cancel the card. Therefore the tab of $132 remains unpaid.
