      My grandchild was referred here by Medicaid to be seen for RSV. After calling to see if they accept Medicaid the lady said yes they do and what kind is it. She was informed that the plan was not known but was given a Medicaid Id number to look up. After looking it up she stated that yes they can take it and my grandchild can be seen. After arriving and making to the back with the doctor she stated that she would have to call to see if they could take the Medicaid! Then comes back and say it will be $159 for a visit and rsv test and would have to be paid in cash. My problem is why would you say you take the Medicaid when they knew after putting the number in the system it couldn't be taken. It was a way to fraud money! No explanation explains why she would have to call and get approval to take the Medicaid if the office personnel knew they couldn't!

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/16) */ This individual called nonstop, however the mother of the child that was in the office was aware that the facility does not take medicaid from West Texas and that the office visit would have to be self pay unless she provided us with Medicaid from the DFW area such as Amerigroup or Parkland. The mother was explained that Medicaid she has is not accepted in this area. The mother was aware of the cost and agreed to pay for the visit. Professional services were offered and mom had agreed to the services and the amount. After the mother and the child left the grandmother harassed the office and threatened the office nonstop. -- Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/11/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The woman that answered the phone told me she told the mother of the child she would check with her office manager to see if she could go ahead and take the Medicaid since she told her it could be used! Harassment was not used as they stopped answering the phone after the office manager couldn't be located due to avoidance! Bottom line is they lie to people as to them taking Medicaid and when they get to the office they say they don't in order to get a cash payment! They false advertise to get money without providing proper care. There was NO receipt offered as to what services was paid for. They only offer a credit card receipt! That's a cover up there! Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2021/12/02) */ Services were rendered, the mother of the child was told that we do not accept Medicaid that is from other areas of Texas, we accept amerigroup and parkland and mom agreed to pay for services. A copy of her cc receipt was given to mom and we are more than welcome to provide copy of receipt of services again. Mom could have cancelled her appointment if she wanted to but she did not cancel and agreed to be seen and understood that we do not accept Medicaid from other areas that our out our network. Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2021/12/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Each and every employee should be up to date and on the same page about policies! Instead the employee was not up to date on the policy for accepting Medicaid and therefore said they accept it so let her call to see if they could go ahead and take the Medicaid we had. Then stated she can be seen. Yes they need to issue a refund!
