On February 6th we took our 7 year old Shih-poo (Tootsie) to Barks and Bubbles Pet Spa to have her groomed. We received a call at approx 12:30 saying our dog was having a seizure. I arrived at the spa in less than 5 minutes to find our Tootsie deceased. She had a horrible red rash all over her and she was very hot to the touch. She was also hard to the touch. It appeared she had been dead for some time and rigor mortis has already set in. We took our pet to Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital to have Tootsies vet do a full necropsy on her. I went back to the spa to ask them to please tell Me what happened to our sweet tootsie. They said she was just fine when they put her in the kennel. And then she had a seizure. The necropsy report says that Tootsie had a massive heat stroke from being over heated. (Necropsy report attached) As you can see it is physically impossible for a 6.5 pound poodle mix to have a massive heat stroke in early February inside a building. This should have never happened. I went back to Barks and bubbles pet spa two weeks after the incident. I ask them to please tell me the truth on what happened to my tootsie. She changed her story to tell me it happened while she was using a hand dryer drying her. This is impossible I have blow dried tootsie many times. I also asked why we had not heard from her. I was told the her attorney advised her not to call us. To me that says a lot about her. I really would appreciate the help warning the public so this business can never do this to another animal again. Thank you
