I am writing this review after long and careful reflection on the owner **************************** and his company Design Pools of East Texas.1. **********************, the owner lies.2. **********************, the owner fails to complete contracted labor.3. **********************, the owner will not respond after he receives payment.Several years ago I contracted with the owner, ****************** and his father. They were to build a pool, deck, fire pit and fence the area. The pool was installed. One of the inlet ports leaked, ******************, the owner choose to plug it instead of repairing it. The Polaris automatic pool cleaner never worked. The pump installed was undersized for pool and cleaner. The pool light leaked and had a short. ******************, the owner started the fence, but choose not to complete it. ******************, the owner would no longer return calls after received final payment. He promised multiple times to correct and complete work. He did not. Soon after I had the all work completed, that ****************** the owner refused to do, by another contractor. The pools low quality construction began to shine through. Tile siding began to pop off. Bullnose tile coping began to break and separate from the surrounding deck. The decking has cracked in multiple areas. The pool skimmers were placed at different height levels, this is problematic.I replaced the pump and replaced some plumbing. I replaced all of the coping and tile. The plumbing and pipes have been replaced appropriately with new filter appropriate pumps for pool and cleaner. The the skimmers cannot be leveled.I write this to say simply that if you choose ****************************, the owner and Design Pools of East Texas you will lose money. You will not have contracted work completed. You will not be satisfied. He will talk a good game on the front but he lies publicly and privately. He is not to be trusted. He has a history of not fulfilling his contracts.
