On December 1, 2021 their services were used to move our things from a storage building in Tyler, TX to our home in Kilgore, TX. I was estimated by the owner that it would take 5 hours at a rate of $155/hr plus a standard $200 charge for the truck totaling approximately $775, with the actual amount dependent on the time it took. They were 6 hours late showing up when the agreed upon time was 1pm. They damaged my carpets and tracked in mud all over the house. When they left it took substantially less time than we were told but the owner charged the full amount without even getting permission to charge our card that amount. When this was pointed out to the owner he stated via text message he would refund us the amount of $287.50 and it would be returned in 3 business days. As of today December 20 we have no received the refund and when we contacted the owner about this he said he needed certain info and call back when we had it, so we did and he has not answered any phone calls since then and is avoiding his promise to refund our money.Initial Complaint

While moving my furniture, they damaged flooring in the hall closet. I took pictures of it and sent to the owner of the moving company. He said he would pay for the damage. He hasn't paid it, and that's been over two months. I ended up paying it myself. Also, he gave me one price and charged me another. He didn't say anything about $105/hr. or a $150 service fee, or $200 more for moving a safe. His crew took a lunch break and added it to the hours charged. He now ignores my calls and my emails. I sent him a letter, also, but haven't heard back. That was about a month ago.Initial Complaint

We hired Red Carpet Moving Company to move us from Tyler TX to Houston TX. They only used blankets to wrap the piano, and all other furniture was only wrapped with the plastic wrap material. When they arrived, they locked the keys in the truck and spend 1/2 hour trying to get the keys. They then began to move our belongings into the house. When the items were removed from the truck there were scratches on our dining room table, our kids dresser, an heirloom amour, as well as completely broken belongings. They couldn't get the amour, so my wife and I had to bring it into the house. They scratched the wood floor while moving as well. They left and the piano does not work and is broken. Many other things were scratched or ruined. They said they would send a claim form on August 26, and still have not received it. They threatened to take all of our belongings back to Tyler if we did not pay them cash. We had to threaten to call the police. We even called *** to get keys unlocked for them.Initial Complaint

I want to start by saying that I truly do not know where TO start. I have never felt the need to do this because after 15+ years in customer service, I truly understand everyone has their bad/off days. I have had many myself. With that said, I am here because I didn't feel right not warning people about this company. Red Carpet Moving had me scheduled to move at 10PM on May 23rd which I coordinated with friends/family for help with as well. The morning of I receive a last-second text that my move had been moved back to 1PM & while that cut out most of my help from friends/family, I was excited for the move and did not complain. Nor did I complain after sitting in my truck after they showed up an additional 2 hours late around 2:45. Or after my broken furniture/wall&floor damage/etc. Now after countless unanswered calls/texts asking for just a simple receipt so I can get my companys moving reimbursement, I am here to warn others about this "business". Avoid at all costs.Initial Complaint

My appointment to move was set for 9 AM on August 3rd, 2021. They told us to be ready at 9 AM They showed up at 6 p.m. They kept saying they were on their way (at 9 AM they said it would be noon, then they pushed it to 2:30 PM, and then 4:30 PM). When we were ready to cancel, they showed up. They double booked for moving that day. They started at 6 PM, finished at 10PM Afterwards I left for the house where we were moving to, only to receive a call from my wife (the primary contact) that says they will not be completing the move that day (which they said they would, despite the hour of the night). So, then I was homeless with a child and a dog in my car, and the movers would not pay for a place for me to stay. The next day, they continued the moving process and finally dropped off our things. I asked for a receipt to show my new employer because my new employer said they would cover the move. I handed over $1500 cash. they said they'd email the receipt. Still no receipt after 2 weeks.
