AVCO Roofing *** was contracted to reroof my house and do repairs on an interior room with water damage *** of 2020. After the roofing repairs were completed I noticed my roof sagging over my porch. They sent a representative out to look at it. I was at home the day of the roofing. My house shook with a loud noise. I went out to investigate and found that one of the roofers had dropped a bundle of shingles on my roof. I didn't think much of it until the job was complete and the roofers had cleaned up and were gone. At that time I was admiring my new roof when I noticed the large sagging spot over my porch. The representative from AVCO determined the dropping of the shingles did in fact break something and that representative stated that AVCO would have carpenters come back out to repair it. They never showed up and after several calls demanding it be repaired they finally sent out two young men who repaired the damage caused by the roofers. AVCO took over a month to come out and repair the interior room. However they repeatedly requested payment for the interior room before the work had ever began. I continually denied to pay until the work was completed as contracted. Finally they called me and stated they were pulling a crew from another job to do this. I left work to let them in. Long story short, they didn't replace the ceiling as contracted and didn't install new trim around the new wall covering. I also noticed damage to an antique piece of furniture and called AVCO. They sent out a representative and he asked me to get a bid on repairs of the furniture. I did and I requested the new trim around the walls and the new ceiling as contract stated. At that time they quit taking my calls and disappeared. My insurance agent said do not pay them because they had not completed the work. He also stated they are committing insurance fraud by trying to get payment for interior work that was not completed. After 2 years they threating to put a lien on my property. HELP!

We replaced the roof for **************** on 6/19/20. Shortly after he complained that the front of his home had some broken support beams after the install. I reminded him that his home was like this previously, we pointed it out to him before the install, and after. We agreed to fix it for him, even though it was not our responsibility. We sent a crew to his home to complete the interior work form the insurance scope. While the crew was there to fix insurance paid for damage, **** proceeded to get the crew to replace items not related to the claim. The crew did end up replacing those additional items, without payment for them. Later, **** said the crew had damaged some items inside the room they were working on. He showed us pictures of the damaged. All the damaged wood was old, we could tell by the color of the damaged wood. We had a master ********* confirm that it was not new damage. The room we were working in, was the room **** was using as a kennel are for his two large dogs. Pet related damage was the suspected cause. We set a time for **** to sit down with the project manager and the *** of Avco Roofing. He agreed to the time set, then cancelled the day of. I attempted several times to reach out to **** to reschedule the meeting. **** did not responded at all on our several attempts to clear this matter up. His claim finally went to collections for his remaining balance for the work performed.

I am rejecting this response because: The response by **** is false. The damage to the support beams on the porch were done by ****`s roofers. If not show a document where I signed agreeing to the additional **st of the repairs made on the porch. They can't because there isn't one. As for the interior room my dogs only slept in that room at night it was not a kennel as someone has assumed. And even if it was a kennel they are still obligated to **mplete the work as **ntracted by the insurance instead of making excuses. There were no repairs made outside of insurance s**pe on that interior room as **** has stated. If so show where they had me sign to **mplete those additional repairs. Also they installed broken baseboards and trim that they broke removing, back on to our walls. Then they did not replace the ceiling in that interior room as **ntracted on the insurance claim. And the damage their inside crew is responsible for is not on several items. The item is an antique Armoire thats 150 years old made of mahogany. The damage is paint that was spilled down the front of it and broken pieces in several places on the Armoire. Some breaks about knee high and some about 7 feet high. I don't believe my dogs **uld climb up that high and break it. I warned the crew about not touching the Armoire and at one point I even had to make them remove their ladder that they had leaned against it while painting. They also dripped wood stain on the Armoire mirror. Why they had wood stain in that room is still a mystery. Unless they were trying to **ver up scratched places on the Armoire with stain. That afternoon we decided to document this damage by taking pictures and the crew started leaving one at a time. All except for 1 guy that stayed. We even invited him to sit down and eat with us because he was trying to do what was right and he accepted the invitation. He didn't agree with how they were replacing broken boards or being careless around the Armoire. He told us this would be the last job he did for ****. ****`s "*********" that viewed the pictures of the Armoire said several of the breaks looked new but one looked old. It wasn't old its where a piece of trim was missing after being knocked off by their crew and the wood was darker under the missing piece of trim or maybe they had applied stain to it to make it darker. There was never an appointment set that I canceled either. My insurance ** advised me not to pay **** until the Armoire was repaired, the ceiling was replaced and new baseboards and trim were installed. Because it was the only leverage short of a lawsuit I had to get the **ntracted work **mpleted. The insurance ** even stated what **** was doing is **nsidered insurance fraud in the state of *****. I advised **** about what my insurance ** stated and at that point **** quit taking my calls to **me finish the job as **ntracted and repair our antique Armoire. Now a year and a half after the fact here they are and their story has changed. My step son worked for **** and told us they are well known for work like this and for making threats of liens when business is slow. We haven't heard from **** in a year and a half and all of a sudden they send 1 letter, the only response in a year and a half, threatening my wife and I with a lien. The Monday after we received said letter I called their office and the **** rep who's phone number was on said letter and left voice messages because they didn't answer their phones. No one ever responded to my messages. After several days waiting for **** to return our calls, and they didn`t, thats when we decided to filed a claim with the BBB. All **** has to do to make this right is to pay for repairs to the antique Armoire, (which is mahogany and we do have an estimate for repairs by the only person who does such repairs in ******* then replace the ceiling on the interior room and paint it, as **ntracted, and replace the broken baseboards and trim they broke then re-installed on our walls and paint them. When they agree to do that we can talk about them getting paid the amount that was due on the **ntact, after they **mplete the work and pay for repairs to the Armoire.

      Sincerely,

      *********************
