I went to sixstar auto to get my engine replaced ***** took like 7 to 8 months once I got it back it drove fine for one day then tue next day I'm driving and the car just shuts off called ****** for him to tell me bring it in once it got there 2 days later he says my timing belt broke and unfortunately I have bent valves he blamed it entirely on the timing belt parts because they were old but I never got a recommendation while they were doing it so after paying them almost around **** or more they tell me I'm just screwed even though they just put the engine in

The customer originally brought in this vehicle in back in April of 2022 complaining of a blown turbo and not making boost. We diagnosed the problem with The Turbo and replaced it for them. Shortly thereafter in August the customer return stating that the vehicle had rod knock. We offered a few options for them and they opted for a used short block with no warranty from us.

Due to their financial situation they went with the cheaper route, which stipulated no warranty on that job.

We installed a used short block new timing belt kit and new engine gasket kit however the plastic pulley broke after they picked it up and resulted in bending the valves on the cylinder heads .

We went out of our way to make sure and help them put a new timing belt in with a new pulley to try and get the engine running again but when we did it had already had bent valves due to the engine being a interference engine.

I am rejecting this response because:you can look at the receipts and see that isn't completely truthful in April you said the car was brought for the turbo to be fixed but the receipt shows that was at the end of May and you said you went out of your way but how my car sat there for over 6 months and didn't last a day if I was told that the pulley wasn't up to par I would of payed to have a new part installed and the car wasn't fixed till October after starting the engine job late may beginning of June every business i have talked to said that was wrong and they should of at least tried to make it right by at least helping you on the labor because I hadn't even put 100 miles on the car and that time line isn't right because let's be honest my car was there more then half the year with other cars flying in and out weekly

      Regards,

I had an engine replacement that was installed improperly. Owner ****** at Six Start Auto recommend I take the car to ****** to restart the **** PCM on car after he replaced engine. It turned out that was not the issue the issue was the improper installation of the engine. The business never mentioned warranty on installment only that it was out of his realm he recommend taking it to ******. Id like reimbursement for the amount I need to pay ****** to fix the problem that ****** charged me for. Total charges requesting $1,183.95 from ************** wants to settle at $600 which isnt even half of what I paid him for labor in total I paid over $2000.00 for labor. Im ok with settling at $900.00
