On September 27, 2022 ******** Ramirez, sole proprietor of Ramirez Roofing and Construction gave me a quote to do a roofing job on the roof of my house. His quote was for overlaying the shingles on the house with 30 yr shingles for a total of $3,400.00. ******** told me theyd be starting the job as soon as they got the materials. I wrote a check for $3,000.00 and we agreed Id pay the balance of $400.00 within the next month. On or about the 14th of October they brought the shingles and nails and left them in my front yard and some of them on the roof, the box of nails were left on a bench on my front porch. After them not coming to do the work I called then, was told it was too cold to do the job, as the weather started warming up I was told it had been raining too much, then when the weather got even warmer I called and was told theyd come next week, then in a few days, just excuse after excuse. Then he told me he had underbid this job and thats why he hadnt come to do the job. I asked him, and it took you EIGHT & A HALF months to tell me this!! He started saying hes going to have to pay his employees out of pocket and could I pay him more than the $400.00? I told him I couldnt believe he had the audacity to ask me for more money, that I felt hed maybe feel compelled to waive the $400.00 or at least give me a discount on it. After all, he knows Im a widow now and on a fixed income. Then he kept avoiding my calls, finally he told me he was going to have to find someone to do the job. Then he found someone but when no one showed up he kept giving me excuses, he forgot to give them the address, his truck broke down etc he finally got someone out here but was very angry, as I was at my **** end and didnt know what to do, where to turn, as Im not used to doing these things, husband always took care of such things, I posted a rant on ******** about my experience with him. He told the guys not to do the job unless I took the post off of ********.
