My mom took her car in right after Thanksgiving of 2022. Time kept going by and they had every excuse why transmission is not fixed. There were many many times they would not even answer the phone. She got car picked up by wrecker service to take to another company in April of 2023. No new transmission was put in it. New company says the insurance that is paying for the replacement will not pay for it due to Smith Transmission turning in form that states they already put it in. This is not the case. This is FRAUD. So since she has been out of a vehicle for over 4 months, she had to purchase another car.Initial Complaint

On June 23, 2022 I paid Smith Automotive & Transmission $2000.00 upfront to order a new transmission for my granddaughters car. They told me they ordered the transmission, and when they received it, it would not fit the car so they sent it back. ***** Smith told me they would send the transmission back and reimburse me the $2000.00 because they would not be able to get the right transmission to fit the car. On November 26, 2022 we had the car towed away from Smith Automotive & Transmission, with the same old broken transmission. I have called Smith Automotive multiple times and gone by their shop to try to get the reimbursement, and it seems they have no intentions of reimbursing me. If this does not work, my next step is to take them to small claims court.
