We purchase a home with a warranty from discount foundation repair. They have been completely unresponsive to all of our phone calls and emails. They will not answer the phone nor respond to any emails and therefore we cannot transfer the warranty into our name. We are now having foundation problems and unable to get in contact to have those problems resolved.

Discount Foundation /******************* was hired to fix my foundation problem on 10-6-2021. Their was to be a 3 year warranty on his work. *************** estimate included 8 pressed piers in the soil. We found out later he did not put them in. I contacted *********** starting 8-21-2022 about the house being un level, his response was that it had to settle give it time. I have called several times and left a message with no response,I got in touch with him on 1-12-2023 he said he never got my call or message.*********** had several excuses and even wanted more more money to fix our problem. My last contact with him was 1-23-2023 *********** said he did not have any help and would get to me as soon as he got some help. I do not want him back out here to finish a job he did not do right the first time. I want the money I paid him back so I can try to find some one to fix a problem that he made worse

      Reponse to BBB Complaint

      ******, ** 76655

      Start Date: 10-6-2021
8 piers in Soil - located underneath the beam on the house, under the deck.
The installed piers are sitting on a concrete beam, that is under the house.

On 5-17-2022 we returned for a service call.
We re-shimmed the piers under the floor.
I talked to the homeowner about the floor joist, under the den area.
The previous contractor, whoever did the add-on, did not use the correct materials.
So, the flexibility of the joist that was installed by the former contractor,
would not allow the lift without creating a hump in the floor.
We did go in and get the den area stabilized, as would prudently allow.
At the time, this was satisfactory to the homeowner.

      Our recommendation:
Install materials that would withstand the lift process.
This was additional work that was not in the original quote.
This situation was caused because the materials used by the contractor, who did the den
add on originally, were not strong enough to correctly lift the den floor.
Additional work/materials would have been necessary.
Which the homeowner dismissed, due to the additional expense.

In January 2023, I talked to the homeowner and told her I would be out when my employees
were back on the job. I explained our production had slowed down due to the pandemic.
But, in no way, did I disregard her request.

I am rejecting this response because *********** was informed of the construction of the den ( Concrete beam around the outside walls and pre-engeineered floor joists )  the first day he arrived to  give us a quote. He never went under the house to see for himself . The original quote was $7700. $3200 of the $7700 was to install 8 pressed piers in soil . As *********** stated he didnt put these piers in the soil . He states that he placed them sitting on the concrete beam ( not in soil as quoted. A couple of days into the project *********** advised us we needed 6  additional  piers at a additional cost of $1795 , We agreed to pay the additional $1795 as Mr ************** advised . Mr ************** is a  professional with 35 years experience and we believed what he told us . We were under the impression that the additional $1975 would take care of the problem. Mr ************** should have seen the need for the additional  piers during his  initial evaluation  of the scope of work to be done before providing a quote . We paid a total of $9675 and the house is still not even close to being level . At  this point I still do not want Discount Foundation to do any work on my home and request a full refund so I can hire a able contractor to correctly level my home .

      Regards,
