I took my 15 year old son to Optical Dispensary. When the dr came in she was very rude and wouldnt let me talk. I was trying to explain why we were there. He has a lazy left eye and we needed documentation showing that his vision cant be corrected. She talked to me him like we were children when she did allow us to get a few words in. When we started to look at frames it took a good while before we were helped. I was told that his insurance allows a ***************************** lenses. After the ****** I was told I would owe an additional ****** as well as it would be ***** days until they would be ready.Fast forward to yesterday. We needed the prescription for glasses so his right eye doesnt become impaired. I called at 4:20 and asked if I could come get a copy of it and was told sure we are open until 5. We got there at 4:43 and the doors were locked. This morning I went back to get the prescription and the girl said let me go get his chart. I waited for 15 minutes and finally told another girl I had been waiting. She went to find the girl who originally was helping me. All of a sudden the first girl came back. They dont want to give you the prescription so it seems. To me it seemed as though they make you wait for quite awhile and hope you get tired of waiting. We went to Eyemart Express last night at 6 and had glasses Today before 1:00PM. Beware doing business with them.

If a third-party professional reviewed the eye exam record, they would find a very thorough examination. Unfortunately, the patient's left eye has a permanent impairment in vision which cannot be corrected. Any delay in wearing glasses would not affect the impairment. After the examination the doctor asked if there are any questions or concerns, and the response was no. 
This patient's insurances gives them $150 in an allowance to use towards lenses or frames and anything above that the patient is responsible for that amount. At The Optical Dispensary we have over ***** frames that could have been chosen with zero out of pocket expense. Recently The Optical Dispensary building was struck by lighting and much of our equipment was damaged and destroyed so we are now in the process in catching up. We usually do same day service and if there are any emergency needs, we accommodate those requests. We never lock our doors before 5:00pm, and we always service our patients needs even if it's after 5:00pm. Sometimes the door gets stuck and will take a firm pull to open. We are very sorry about the wait for your signed prescription, but the doctor was in the middle of an exam and immediately signed it when she was finished. We try our best to provide quality service and to help our patients in the best way possible and to maximize the benefits of their insurance.
