- January 29, 2022 - My car broke down and I called to see how much it is for a mechanic to diagnose and tell me what was wrong with my vehicle. I was told it was $155 for them to diagnose and tell me what was wrong with my vehicle. After I agreed I brought my vehicle to their service department to drop it off. They called me the next day and said it would be another $900 for them to tear down the engine and tell me what was wrong with the vehicle. I declined because that was no what we originally agreed upon. At this point I do acknowledge that I should have made arrangements to pick up my vehicle, but I did not have the funds for a tow so I left it there. Fast forward to June 30, 2022 they sent me a letter saying they will place a lein on my vehicle if I did not pay $155 (letter attached). When I received the letter I called the manager to voice my complaint that they never diagnosed the problem, but I would still be by to pay the $155 and take my vehicle off the lot. He then responded and said well now you owe the original diagnostic fee of $155, a mechanics lein of $560, and a storage fee of the vehicle for $4,725. I told him that none of this was in the invoice or certified letter he sent. I am unable to pay this and was unaware of the charges that this was incurred during this time. The most I can possibly pay are the leins. However, I am asking to only pay the original $155 even though a diagnostic was never ran on my vehicle.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/28) */ The customer brought the vehicle in for diagnosis in January of this year. He was told that there would be additional charges to continue on his vehicle. We did not have a response for the vehicle and it has sat abandoned on our property since. On June 30, 2022 the mechanics lien process has been started. The customer has the option to pay all charges due and pick up the vehicle before the lien is finalized.
