    I had a very disheartening experience with not only a drive thru teller but the branch manager as well. I went to the bank with the intention of depositing a portion of a check into each one of my children's account and receiving the remaining cash back. Something that I have done before with no issues. However today I was meet with blatant discrimination, I was asked first by the drive thru teller if the check was real. I replied yes ma'am and explained the check was from the recent sell of a old vehicle. This was a printed check with the name and information of the company printed on the check. The check could have easily been validated with a phone call, however I was told WFTCU would put a hold on the check for up to 5 business days because it was out of state. I declined to processed and decided to go into the branch and speak with a manager. I was able to speak with branch president Angela, she came off as very demining and in my opinion did not put forth in effort to try and resolve the issue. I explained that I had done this before and couldn't understand what the problem was today. Her only response was its a out of state check and the policy is to place holds on these types of checks. I again explained the previous checks were all out of state and there was never an issue. Angela seemed not concerned whatsoever and proceeded to read her email while I was in her office. She basically dismissed my concerns and feelings. I felt like my concerns were not meet with any level of empathy there was no effort put into trying to resolve the issue it was basically no the policy says no and if we did it before SO WHAT. My children have all held accounts with this bank for over 5 years, I am listed as an authorized user on all accounts I have managed the accounts from day one. I again felt like because I am a brown skinned woman I was not treated with the same level of respect as someone of a lighter complexation would have gotten. I have regularly gone into the branch to handle business for my children and I have never had this type of experience.
