I purchased a head stone for my parents grave on June 1, 2021 for $3100.00. I had a credit of o$500.00 from the funeral which left me a balance of $2600.00 of which I paid $1800.00 leaving me a balance of $800.00. I paid this balance of $800.00 cash on October 18, 2021 leaving me with a zero balance. They called me to to say I have a balance, which I am surprised as I know I do not have a balance. So, in order to get the headstone placed on November 30, 2021 I paid ONCE again the $800.00 this time with my debit card. I would like to know where is my $800.00 cash payment from October and why I did not receive credit ?????

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/13) */ The initial cost for the monument was $3100. At the time the monument was ordered, the client put down $1300 and a $500 credit was also applied from a local funeral home bringing the total down payment to $1800. So actual money received was $1300 and that is the only payment we show on our books directly from the family. A member of the family had come in at one point enquiring about the balance owed and another employee of Austin Stone had incorrectly read the contract and had applied the $500 credit to the shown remaining balance of $1300 and had told the family the remaining balance was $800. But regardless of the accounting error made, Austin Stone and Monument still does not show any payments made after the initial $1300 payment from the time the monument was ordered until the family came back and paid the $800 that they were told was remaining so the monument could be set. I as the owner, agreed to accept the $800 as opposed to the $1300 that was shown to be owed on the contract as a way to diffuse the situation.
