I am submitting a formal complaint against Mikes Towing, outlining their unethical conduct and negligence in the towing and auction of my RV with VIN #*****************. On December 18th, 2021, my RV was wrongfully taken by ***************************, a person previously served with a notice to vacate. Despite law enforcement involvement and charges filed against ******, Mikes Towing played a pivotal role in mishandling the situation. My primary grievances with Mikes Towing include their refusal to wait for me, the rightful owner, to retrieve the impounded RV, choosing instead to proceed with the impoundment merely 56 minutes before my anticipated arrival. Furthermore, they neglected to place a hold on the stolen vehicle, allowing it to be auctioned off without following proper procedures related to the holding of stolen property in a police impound. This conduct demonstrates a blatant disregard for the rights of victims and contributes to a pattern of unethical behavior. I urge the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to investigate these actions thoroughly and hold Mikes Towing accountable for their role in this distressing incident.Business response

Dear ******************,
We wish to inform you that we take all complaints very seriously at our company, and we have thoroughly investigated the matter at hand. Our investigation has revealed that we were requested by a law enforcement agency to impound the vehicle in question.
It is important to note that when law enforcement makes a request, we are obligated to comply promptly and safely. Only law enforcement has the authority to place a "Hold" on a vehicle, and in this case, the impounding agency did not request a hold or wish to wait for the owner.
According to state law on impoundment, Mikes Towing Service followed all necessary procedures. The owner was notified of the impoundment as required by law, but unfortunately, the vehicle was never claimed and was eventually auctioned off.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to us by phone at ************** or via email at ***********************************
