Wichita Falls Water Billing and Utilities department refuses to connect the water at my residence. I am a renter. I have never had an account with the water department. I do not owe them money for a past bill at this residence. Nothing. I have two children that I can't feed or bathe until I have running water. I've called and tried to have it resolved. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/01) */ As part of a routine audit it was discovered that water was being illegally used at the property that the complainant occupies. During the course of our investigation we were informed by the landlord that the same tenants have been occupying the property and using the water since September. While complainant denies living in the property to one manager he told another manager he had been, but didn't feel like he should be responsible for the charges. We have spoken to a name listed on the lease who says they have all been there, we also received a fake lease from one of his roommates trying to avoid paying these charges. I spoke to the landlord again yesterday who informed me that he will not write a new lease for them and has not written a lease on this property since 9/1/21. At this time the charges for the illegal water and meter damages total $1249.00 plus a $100 deposit to start services.
