I am writing to dispute a charge on my credit card associated with a real estate investing mentoring and training course provided by REI Nexus, LLC, for which I paid $5,000, with $5,174.91 charged to an American Express Blue Cash Everyday credit card (Account Ending *******). I enrolled in this course with the expectation of receiving comprehensive training in real estate investing, including personal one-on-one mentoring, ongoing support, and specific promises like providing earnest money and repair costs for investment projects. Furthermore, the course claimed to offer funding for fix-and-flip properties, with a share in the proceeds from sales, and lifetime coaching and training. Regrettably, on November 14, 2023 at 1700, I was informed that all services, including the weekly training class which was our only access to course content, were put on 'Pause'. Additionally, these weekly classes were crucial as the course lacked any written or recorded material. The company also ceased its core offer of investing alongside student partners and has indicated an impending closure. I have paid the entire course fee in full, but the service I expected to receive indefinitely has been drastically cut short. The abrupt halt of these services, especially in the absence of alternative learning resources, constitutes a significant breach of the agreement. Furthermore, due to the merchant's increasingly hostile approach towards students and the abrupt cessation of all classes, training, coaching, and mentoring activities, I have not been able to directly resolve this issue with them. This hostile environment has deterred any direct communication for resolution. In light of these circumstances, I have requested a full refund for the amount charged to my credit card. After discussing these events with the credit card vendor (American Express), I was directed to reach out to the Better Business Bureau to notify them of this event before they could provide a potential refund.
