Terrible business model. They set rules, but the higher ranking designers don't have to follow or don't get investigated when reported.

Hi ******, Thank you for sharing your concerns. The direct sales model has been around for decades and we operate within that business model. There are policies and we do require our Designers, at all levels, to uphold them. If there is a policy violation, we do not publicly share with other Designers the details of someone's account. I did not find an active Designer account for you, but if you would like to share something that has gone unreviewed, please send an email to *********************************** We strive to treat all Designers at all levels the same.

I ordered a combination of about 8 Jars of Chalk Pastes and *************** from Chalk Couture early 2023. No one told me these items are only good for 3 months, 6 at the most. Had no idea. I didn't get to my projects until recently. All the inks and pastes were the consistency of large curd cottage cheese. I could not get the chunks to break down with stiring, adding spritzes of water. I could get them to turn to liquid but then they were totally water logged and the medium was unusable. The packets of chalk and ink, that arrived more recently in ********** kits was unusable as well. Very little medium in the packet and consistency was extremely thick and unusable.I communicated with CC and was told since it is over 90 days, I was *********** no refund or credit. I would have been happy with 50% of the cost, in credit. It was a hard NO. There was something wrong with the product I received. I've heard they knew they had a problem at one point, but that it had been resolved, or I would have never ordered. I had been a designer for the discount, but discontinued that and feel the customer service is something I don't want to be associated with.

I placed an order for the First time with this company around February 15th, 2022.Upon opening the package, I felt as though something was missing and reached out to the person who referred me to them.Big mistake. I will no longer purchase their products and have since found a replacement! The content(s) missing as advised were; Monthly Decal, Paint (ALL), none, and lastly a Squeegee. What am I to craft with no paint, or stencil?! I surely wasnt going to renovate my home with the few items given.A complaint was sent to the company through the Referral Source, and She said I should be receiving it, and they Apologized for any inconvenience.Today is 26 March 2022, and. Well, I guess the package caught Covid and died in Transportation. Thats my only conclusion.Negative 5 stars if I could, but that option isnt made available as it may bring down someones reputation to quickly I suppose?!Poor Service.Lack of Customer Satisfaction.Lack of Follow Through.Beginning to wonder in my opinion if this company is a Pyramid Scheme. Seems very questionable considering other reviews over multiple websites. Seems to be the norm.Buy $99.99 Membership Package, and sell to customers below while encouraging them to sign up to earn commissions with each new person making that person a Mentor while giving partial orders. Very sketchy and sounds familiar to Her-belief and ScamWay. Im wondering if other people are experiencing similar issues??Please add your $0.02. Something seems borderline and walking a fine line of scams while the Phat Cat atop the ladder seems to be making money.

Hi ******, Upon review of your account, it does not look like we have received any communications from you indicating that your package has not arrived. Our customer service team has tried to reach out to you as well. We are always happy to assist with missing orders or products. It sounds like you were working with a Designer vs directly with the corporate office. Please give us a call back at ************ so we can have the opportunity to assist you. Also, to answer your question, yes we are a creditable direct sales company and pride ourselves on it. We do not sell a "Membership" package since we are not a wholesale company. However, we do offer a $99 Starter Kit that contains over $270 USD in retail value. This kit provides you with a collection of things to help you start your own Designership. We also offer a $19 kit allowing you to do the same at a much lower cost if that is your preference. We look forward to hearing from you!Chalk Couture

      Customer Response

      03/29/2022

Hi, yes indeed received communication from my Designer.Yes, Your Team team tried reaching out; ONLY AFTER, I filed this complaint. If you are truly happy to assist as in your recent response, then why did my Designer have so many loops to jump through, to receive vague answers, or insisting that I was lying as you stated our tracking indicates the consumer has received their entire kit? Let the previous paragraph, sink-in, and read aloud to another colleague.I did some online research, and found out about (A Contract) that Designers are to be First Point of Contact vs. Chalk Couture. From further questioning and queries, The Designer, is to Recruit New Designers, of which a Commission is to be Paid to both the Designer, and Newly Joined Designer with a Monthly Quota to remain in good-standing. Further investigation, shows Said First Designer becomes (A Mentor?) to the Newly Recruited.Whether a Designer who pays $99.99, and $19.99/month fee, how is that not a Membership??Digging more information, from multiple sources, I cannot just go to you, I must choose a Designer, who I designate to purchase (a Kit).My understanding from your response is shifting blame of your products, from your Designer? And yet, as mentioned above, how am I to contact you first? The Designer shared the correspondences, (emails) from Him/Her, and stated Three separate issues were similar. Those email responses from you, to your Designer, were similar to they received their order, as our tracking indicates.Fortunately I am well acquainted with the Designer, and as She/He had their account closed down, because they inquired of the orders at least twice, and indicated that His/Her account has been suspended. So who to turn to while YOU have my money??!I understand further reasoning behind that (I Find it very shady, and/or skeptical to say the least) And I will no longer purchase ANY of your products.Ive since found a new Vendor. Thank you, for being a $39.99 ****** Well Learned.

      Customer Response

      04/11/2022

Your lack of response, speaks LOUDLY about your Lie(s), in my, and my Former Designer. My short ****** ************************** Law Enforcement. In my travels, I have come to know at least (37) customers.Of the 37, Three were willing to speak freely because you Terminated their Contract (which is a 52-page Beast on Mar 2018!). Most cited similar issues, as noted above. Primarily, not receiving (PV) Points or Cash Equivalent, and Their specific clientele not receiving, or damaged goods, dried Paste/Chalk was common. It appears someone must have spoke loudly about lacking Californias Proposition 65 Warning - and may have warranted your NEW Contact from April 2022, forward with those that Buy your $99 Kit to become a first level Designer. In pecking order, it clearly shows in the Contract(s) I have, it first starts at the bottom with a $19.99 kit, sold buy the Designer, where Designer Dollars are earned. The next level(s) from Designer, on up, receive more Perks are in low, to highest, are; Qualified Designer, Lead Designer, Master Designer, onto, Mentor, Leading Mentor, Master Mentor; then onto Third Tier of Couturier, Executive Couturier, and Master Couturier.Phew; Three-levels of Progression to achieve through pushing to sell, sell, sell, with a Specific Minimum Quota to make. And you Blamed my Designer when he/she has forwarded all correspondence from them (Designer) to you, and the response(s) of each. Your rebuttal of saying why not contact us, because nothing would have changed, except another voice, and personality. Shifting blame is not very good for Business Practice, Im sure youre aware of that.Recruitment appears to be the main objective and possibly is what sustains the business Practice. In addition to Proposition 65 Warning, I truly hope that warning labels are with each package, or product(s) as I know I wouldnt ingest, but younger Children dont know this. The labels should include examples of; No Ingestion, No Direct Skin Absorption, Eye Exposure, or any other route of Administration that could lead to any, Additional Cavities, that could enter the Blood Stream.Ive witnessed 17. 17 different people, and they opened their package(s) in hopes of making that $99 Sale.No Specific or Basic Instructions to assist youngsters, exploring minds.Your Contract 2019-2022, starting with 3.3.3 - 3.3.10.Extremely confusing, was this written by an Undergraduate, or a Legitimate Lawyer?? Its so confusing, Im not sure you may have taken the time to proof it. Im lost.Additionally, those sections, and Paragraphs conclude that the Contract IS NOT a **** because you say so, I challenge you to contact the *** ***** of ****** who certainly will gladly school you as YOUR contract Dictates what a Sub-Contractor can/cant do, how it must be done, etc.. This is known as anyone to this day is actually an Employee. Congratulations, you have expanded and owe REAL money, not Designer Dollars to each person that has signed on from day one to present! You have crossed the line clearly with Contractor/Sub-Contractor relations.3.3.12.6 Deceptive Posting - Im certain I covered this earlier that you essentially insulted, and lied about Memberships directly to me. Enough said.3.10.1 Non-Solicitation??? Huh? This confusing language makes no sense, considering that your duties are to meet or exceed Monthly Quotas? Wow..3.10.3 Rank Limitations - This paragraph is no different than how Herbal-Life, Amway, **** ***, and many other Pyramid Schemes are Structured. The only people making money are *******************, and Her Close Team of Network Operations at her Choosing. Whether MLM or, OR Pyramid Scheme, only top few make money. The remaining hemorrhage, or lose money below the Entourage.Has (LHAMA) Labeling of Hazardous *** Materials Act been implemented through (ASTM-D ****) for Scientific Testing prior to opening, and at each (5) Year Interval? The labels, mostly missing, that do exist, are simply a name assigned to the product.Do you have any Legitimate Documents Proving that each of your products were tested, AND, in compliance with (CPSIA)?Are you capable of producing LHAMA Regulation 16 C.F.R. 1500.14(b)(8)(i)(C)(6) states: [T]he producer or repackager shall have a toxicologist review as necessary, but at least every 5 years, art material product formulation(s) and associated label(s) based upon the then-current, generally accepted, well-established scientific knowledge. **************** addition, In addition, the regulation at 16 C.F.R 1500.14(b)(8)(ii)(E) states: [I]f an art material producer or repackager becomes newly aware of any significant information regarding the hazards of an art material or ways to protect against the hazard, this new information must be incorporated into the labels of such art materials that are manufactured after 12 months from the date of discovery. If a producer or repackager reformulates an art material, the new formulation must be evaluated and labeled in accordance with the standard set forth at 1500.14(b)(8)(i).A change in supplier of a component of a product is considered a change in the product formulation and does require reevaluation of the product formulation by a toxicologist... (LHAMA,2022.).No Expiry Dates. No Phthalates Free? * ****** of ********** (for specific enforcement inquires): e-mail: **************** telephone: **************.* ************************ (for general assistance understanding and complying with CPSC regulations): e-mail: Please use our Contact Form, which is the best way to get a fast response; telephone: **************.Thank You, in advance for being transparent as I love my Children getting in touch with their ***istic Side, and Flourish, while taking it to the next level, however, as a concerned citizen, I want to be positive that my Children are receiving Wholesome products free of potential cancerous, or any other chemicals that could cause harm!!Thank you for all you do!

      04/12/2022

As of today, 12 August 2022, Im adding additional information; recently discovered TODAY, via an Extremely Well Known and Respectable, and Reputable Source. It appears that Chalk Couture has their Copy Rights Expired, yes Expired, AT LEAST 1 year ago, closer to Two Years. This Same Source, informed me that a Potential Investigation of 1 or more agencies.Reasons are Unknown to me at this time, however, as in my earlier comments, about Herbal Life, and Amway Scams that occurred years ago, as could be?However, the Investigation (if any) and/or the above is Truthful, I remain Speculative, and not accusing Anyone, of anything.Buyer(s) Beware! My Truth (not Opinion), has personally been a few short months with items Unaccounted for, Defective/Dry Ink and/or Paste. They have accused me, or assumed Ive Lied about not receiving, on my First order nearly 10-15% incomplete. They notified my Designer, and stated otherwise. I do have copies of all the Correspondence(s).My Second order claimed to have been delivered, I did not receive. Correspondence stated it shows that the package was delivered on (date). The Third order, they made good on order One, Two and the Third, except the Paints were not usable, and dried. This can have the potential to be fun, however, if Product Paid for is not in the Condition Expected, well. The fun is no longer there.Im pleased to announce Ive found Two Suitable Businesses, Both New. If you have followed my $0.02 added about Chalk Couture, over the last couple weeks, they indeed were caught in a lie, to me directly. The lack of defending and calling them out for lying, has gone unanswered. I wonder why?Not so much as a Sorry, we misspoke or How can we right the wrong?!In correspondence with the Two; ******* (****-pre Creativity) and Mag-No-lia ********tions).Im going to place an order with both, and lets see if someone can pull off the orders. From word of Mouth, BOTH are respected, and come HIGHLY recommended! Not sure about the Hype as of now. Time will tell.I placed an order with Beau-Pre Create yesterday, Custom Made to any order and no order to Big not to tackle was what was relayed to me by the Business Owner.I placed an order today with Magnolia on a few Products to learn of receiving a 25% Discount just because I guess. Nonetheless, Both seem on the up and up.

Beware!! Customer service gets attitude with you when you try to cancel your membership as a designer! Also they REFUSE to let you quit the company until you fill out via Google docs when you would like to quit! States they will get back to you in 3-5 business days, and then at the end when you put in your quit date it states that it will more than likely not be the day they LET you quit, but it will be around 5-7 normally before it's decided! Huge red flag ?? as this is the only ds company I have ever worked for that requires this especially a GOOGLE DOC! Also beware according to the horribly ruse customer service girl and her even ruder manager that FCC or something like that requires them to collect when and why you want to quit and that I don't have to put anything in the reason for quitting box... well guess what after my phone call with them they removed the reason for quitting box from my Google doc they sent me and want me to fill put! That is shady!
