11/30/2023 4:06pm. Received email from this law firm regarding a case they claimed I contacted them about and that I would be receiving emails over the next days and weeks regarding it. I have never contacted this company. I have never agreed to give them my full personal information or agreed to any form of communication from them. They refuse to disclose how they obtained my personal information. Upon complaint to their phone number, in which case I specifically asked for a call back from an actual person considering this in now a serious breach of personal data, I received a cut/paste email claiming "We inadvertently renewed a very old email campaign. Please disregard the emails sent this afternoon." Again, I've never contacted this company or agreed to any form of communication from this company. They should not have my email address or my personal information. Clearly they are purchasing data illegally to contact potential clients and scam them out of personal and financial information for fraudulent activity.

********* mistakenly sent an email out to people in our law firm data base who previously contacted our law firm. ******* contacted our law firm back in *********************************************************************** 2017 we sent her emails regarding Halloween activities and in 2018 we mailed her our Utah Football Schedule and **** July Events postcards.  We hadn't sent ******* anything since 2018 until this inadvertent email that was sent via Mailchimp. We are sorry this email was sent, but we did not obtain ******* illegally.

I am rejecting this response because: I have never contacted this company regarding a case or any claim of holiday lights. Saying they have been misusing my info for years and flooding my accounts on multiple occasions with 100% spam is not an excuse to further spam my accounts, if they have sent me info on any of their holiday information it is further proof that they have been using my information fraudulently for years without my permission. And again, this is 100% not an excuse to send me fraudulent emails claiming I have an active case with them and that I would be receiving communications about said case in the following weeks. Company has only proven further that they are contacting me without permission and with fraudulent activity, and now they admit they have been selling my data and harassing me for years.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

**************** has misinterpreted our response. We did not claim she reached out to us for a "case or claim" of holiday lights. Rather, that she had contacted our office requesting information on the free holiday light show for our office building in ****** in 2017. Our office's holiday light display was synchronized to music and was featured on several blogs during that time. As a result, several individuals reached out to us to request scheduling information, and **************** (or someone on her behalf) was one of those individuals. Her contact information was not obtained fraudulently, nor was it ever sold to anyone. Given her interest in our holiday light display, we sent her a few emails regarding Halloween activities with our firm and other community activities in 2017 & 2018. We have not been "selling her data and harassing her for years."

We also disagree with ******************** assertion that we "fraudulently" claimed she had an active case with us. As she is aware from a personal phone call from our office, as well as the email we sent to her within 24 hours of the inadvertent Mailchimp email that she received, the email was sent inadvertently and was immediately corrected. We're not sure what else we can do to demonstrate that this is not a scam or fraud, but rather, a mistake. We regret the error but take umbrage at the assertions that personal information was purchased or sold for money, or that our firm is engaged in a scam or fraud.
