On 9/8/22 I discovered mold on the floor in the laundry room area near where the water and drain lines run. In just a couple hours there were streaks of mold showing up all over that lower quadrant of the wall. It seemed to be spreading quickly and I was afraid it was black mold. I called a business that couldn’t come look at it until Friday afternoon. Then I called Expert Restoration and talked with Tim G*****. He said yes they could help me and he’d send someone over soon. Jake G***** (Tim’s nephew I believe Jake told me) came over in a white unmarked van, used a box like tool to take measurements of the wall all while I told him how concerned I was that it was black mold spreading very fast and that maybe the mold was inside the wall! Jake went back to his van to give the measurements to his uncle via his cell phone came out and said usually this is like a $1500 job but I’ll do it for you for $1000 today, right now, I have time. I agreed, signed the mitigation form (#1 saying how they can’t estimate a cost until they start a job to see how bad it is) without reading it first!,and gave him my credit card information. He hurried back in took off the floor boards and cut out the section of the wall and there was no mold inside at all. He threw everything into a large black plastic bag, sprayed a bunch of solution down telling me it would kill all the mold, and left a hepa air scrubber to run for 3 days. He’d be back on Tuesday to get the fan- that was it. He gave me his business card and told me to call if I needed to. He was there less than 15-20 minutes… but he sat in my driveway for another 20-30 minutes after he finished? His card- he works for Disaster Repair Team- not Expert Restoration. “Jake’s” number shows as Tim G***** on my phone. I feel like this was a complete scam! I keep trying to call Tim.
