Patrick J****** at Wealth Advocates in Logan Utah helped me find an accountant post divorce to do my 2021 taxes. He said Matt R**** was exceptional. In December 2021, I received a tax notice from the state and the IRS. I called Patrick and stated that I needed to withdraw money to pay those taxes. He said that I had paid them previously and I knew I had not done so. The accountant called me and said the state had sent me a tax payment coupon in error and that he would call them to rectify it. In February I received a notice saying a lien had been put on my house. I got it paid off quickly but have been charged $16,000 in PENALTIES from the state and IRS. Patrick lives next door to my ex-husband and didn’t disclose that information. I believe this tax problem was done intentionally along with the following listed complaints. 1. Patrick wanted a key to my house 2. Patrick wanted me to travel with his wife 3. Patrick wanted to put a 5 million dollar life policy on me. It would cost me $8,000 a month. He said my kids needed it to pay off my taxes but I had enough money that I didn’t need that done. Other advisors can’t understand why that would be needed. His friend was the insurance guy that would write up the policy. 4. Many instances of gaslighting me 5. Didn’t make one transaction despite telling me he was making me a million a year. 6. Charged me extremely high fees. They were over and above anyone I checked prices against. 7. Put me in touch with a finance company that he had interest in. He did not disclose that. It is illegal to do so. 8. Patrick had an IT guy (Bryon D****) come to my house and look over my electronics. I think this was to hack my financial account. Patrick said they had tried to get into my account numerous times. I thought it was to make sure it was secure. Now I think it was a fraud attempt. 9. Patrick had me go to his friend to put together an estate plan. After the estate planner turned to Patrick and said now we have a power of attorney over her estate. 10. Patrick got a new accountant for 2022. After the accountant had finished asking questions he turned to Patrick and said now we can turn her house into an Air B’N B. I think he was planning a take over of my estate.
