On Janaury 18th 2023, my water heater had a massive leak which resulted in a lot of damage to my home. Ceilings being torn down, floors torn up, baseboards removed, carpet padding removed, etc. When going through the claim process Kartchner HOA said that my insurance would have to cover $5000 of it and anything above that Kartchner's insurance would cover. I got the check from my insurance weeks within the claim being processed. I'm still waiting to get the check from the HOA. There has been issue with American Family Insurance (Kartchner's insurance) getting addresses, email addresses, and people wrong with where to send the payment. Now Kartchner has promised me the check 3 different times and it hasn't happened. I've emailed my contact multiple times. She doesn't update me when changes happen or anything. I have to be the one to email her. She's said the check will be ready "more than likely tomorrow" but at this point I don't trust that it will happen. I understand that things happen and delays can occur, but it's been almost 3 months since the water leak and I just want to get my house fixed which I can't do until I have this check.
