I recently purchased the Browning X-Bolt 300 WIN MAG, and on the first day of my **** I had the firearm slung to my pack and noticed later that evening the bronze coating on the barrel began to wear off showing bare metal, and after a few more days, the barrel got much worse. There were 4 of us on my trip, all with X bolts, and my gun was the only one to show this type of tarnish. Leaving this review is my last resort because I have emailed & called Browning customer service and spoke with them, and told them my story, so they sent me a shipping label to send my rifle in for warranty repair or so I thought. They had my rifle for roughly 2 weeks before they sent me a form saying they would have to re-cerakote my barrel for a price because it was coming off. (Obviously)When I called and asked for details, i was told cerakote doesnt just come off dude, you must have put some something on it" EXACTLY WHY I SENT IT IN!! Respectfully, I am a USMC veteran who purchased this rifle for myself to take on my ***** **** back in October and to be used for our nonprofit for that takes disabled veterans hunting, which I am the brand manager of.This situation with browning has really upset me, and as of right now this situation has been kept a secret between my close friends because I believe I just got a bad product, and not all are like this, but at this point the customer service and gunsmith have me in question about the integrity of Browning. I chose to leave this review on BBB because I am not one to use my social media platform to shame an organization or company when I believe things can be settled correctly, but after my recent interactions with browning customer service, I am beyond irate and cannot believe this how a prestigious company treats their consumers.Be ware of business that lack integrity.

The Service ticket on this repair was # ****** unfortunately the gun has been returned to you with no action taken to repair. The Cerakote is a finish that can wear off as with any other coating like this if it is scratched and or rubbed against something this finish can come off. I am assuming that it was rubbing against something on your backpack and once the finish starts lifting it can get bigger. However because this is a new 2023 gun I am surprised that they didn't just re Cerakote it for you. If you will contact me I will send you another label and we will run it thru the ****************** and take care of this for you.

My direct # is ************ I look forward to hearing from you so that we can take action to get this taken care of for you.

I have read complaints about the same experience that I have with this company..The barrel is bad and they blame it on the bullets..I sent it in the first time with other issues and they fixed some. They said that I need a new barrel. So I sent it back to have a new barrel they tell me that the gun is no good. That now I got to buy a new one..I had bought 3 scope thinking it was those.Until I bought a really good one then I knew. I contacted them and they didn't seam to happy that I wanted to get them to check it out..most companies have a lifetime warranty on accuracy are at least if they well admitting that the barrel is bad they will replace it. Not brownie. I want people to beware of this before they buy brownie rifle.

I purchased a new Browning rifle September 2021. When I inspected rifle chamber it was found to be defective. The chamber reamer was inserted incorrectly. The reamer cut into the rifling. This forces the bullet to one side of the barrel hitting the rifling uneven. Browning knows the gun is defective because I sent it to there warranty center. They refused to fix. I spoke to Micheal the warranty manager and Jackie the customer service manager. The uneven rifling affects the function of the 1500 rifling. Browning is aware and refuses to fix. While talking to warranty I discovered they have put out many rifles with these defects. And continue to do so which is unethical.
