It is a workshop where I brought my diesel pickup truck in for service. I brought it in for diagnosis of the issue. They diagnosed a bad engine, and gave me the option to find a used engine that they would then install. While I searched for a replacement engine, the shop decided to put my truck back together, reinstall my bad engine, and push it out into their yard for storage until I could bring a replacement engine on their own accord. I found a replacement engine within 7 days. Upon delivery of that engine, they told me that I would have to wait 2 weeks before they could get back to work on my truck. I waited patiently. After they swapped in the replacement engine, they sent me a bill for over $8000 when the original estimate was around $3500. They charged me double labor for removing and replacing an engine because they feel I am responsible to pay them for putting my vehicle back together and pulling it out of their shop and into storage and then pulling it back into their shop to work on it again when the new engine arrived. They put the vehicle back together on their own and did not tell me that they would charge me labor for double work. This is not my fault that they needed to move the truck for the shop space but their own and they cannot charge me for this. Now they will not release my truck back to me until I pay this outrageous bill.
