I rented from (08/16/2021 - 05/25/2022) Mountain Vista Apartments, Unit *, on ***** ***** ***** ******, Provo, 84606. Initially, I paid $625.00 as a security deposit and was promised that the money will be refunded if the apartment was given in a good condition, which I did including a professional carpet cleaning. They returned only $443.00 despite returning the apartment in an excellent condition. The reasons indicated by the property company are false for the following reasons: (1) There was a air conditioner leak (not my fault). The leak caused the wall to bubble up. A complaint was filed and never fixed. Now I am being charged. (2) Outside door was damaged due while the maintenance people were working on the roof. I complained and sent a copy of the picture on 05/18. It was never being fixed and I have been charged. (3) There was a mold problem due to which the walls inside the bedroom were moist. After several complaints, it wasn't completely fixed. I have been charged for this. (4) There are many charges that are bogus (not justified). E.g., Mattress protector replacement. They never gave me a mattress protector at the time of check-in. Where does the issue of 'replacement' come in when one was never given in the first place. (5). I cleaned the whole apartment (including professional vacuum cleaning, receipt provided; video evidence available) as instructed. They still charged me $60 for this item. (6) They charged me $60 for a bent screen. I never opened the screen, Their maintenance crew were the only people to touch the screen. I very much appreciate you to take appropriate action.

We disagree with this complaint. The $182 was only charged for cleaning, damaged window screen, and a missing mattress protector. This is outlined in the deposit disposition sent out to the tenant. Everything is documented, including the tenant lease violations.

We disagree with this complaint. Our reports are clear and the tenant has been notified and received their deposit disposition.

I am rejecting this response because: they are lying and taken my money for no reason.

I moved into ****** property two years ago. When I moved in the carpets had bleach stains pink stains white stains and holes. I asked the manager to either replace them or credit my deposit. She stated that neither could be done but that she would not charge me any fees upon move out. Furthermore I submitted emotional support animal documentation. This documentation was lost and requested again one year ago almost this month. I was given an eviction notice due to the lack of documentation. I resubmitted the paperwork after removing my emotional support animal from the premises which exacerbated the anxiety it was prescribed for. I have requested three times the documentation I provided showing that the carpets were damage upon moving in company insists they have sent it they have not they have my correct email because they send me receipts of my rent. I would like reassurance that I will not be charged for the replacement of that carpet.

This is not accurate and the complainant seems to be confused. We ask that they contact our office directly so we can help clarify any issues for them.
