I contacted RAD concrete to polish the colored concrete floors in my new house in ****, ****. We came to an agreement for the project costs of ********* for a professional polished finish on the floors of my ***** sq. ft. house. The agreement was made to make payment in silver bullion. I made clear I expected a professional quality job upon completion as this was a high price.RAD sent a crew, 2 people on Janurary 10. The ******* of the crew who couldn't speak english stated through the teenager who was his assistant that the project would be completed Saturday, **** or Sunday 1-16.I was informed on Wednesday **** that the crew would finish Friday by mid morning. I made it clear that i expected the beautiful professional finish I was promised before they left my house. I was required to travel on Friday and couldn't be there to inspect the completed work. I did make plans to drop off payment of silver bullion to the owner, *************** on Saturday **** on my return trip to **** as i wanted to make prompt payment in good faith of a professional job. When I arrived to my house Saturday evening I was shocked at the poor quality. I wish i would have held payment until I inspected the project. The house floors throughout are full of grind marks, gouges, and several burn marks. The finish was to be a high gloss is dull at best. I did send pictures of the issues to RAD. After two weeks of phone calls, texts to RAD for them to send someone to look at my floors I finally was able to talk to the estimator of my project. He stated they would not send anyone to look at my project and would not be able to correct the problem. He, *************************, asked if I would accept a partial return of silver to make up for the poor quality project. I asked for a return of 180 1 oz. silver rounds, $ ******* value. The owner refused to return the silver and sent a check for ********, 20% of the project cost. I have no leverage and received the check as partial reimbursment. So disappointed!

*********************** reached out to us on December 17th, 2021 for a proposal request and we provided a quote to *********************** on December 19th, 2021. We proposed 2 different options. A diamond grind and clear sealer, or a concrete polish. ***** selected the polished concrete option.  ***** negotiated a discounted price from what we had originally quoted.

Our experienced crew worked on ******* job from January *****. Our crew did all of the steps explained and detailed in our proposal to *****. This was a normal duration for a job of ******* size.

***** let us know that he was disappointed and that he was not happy.  We were very sorry to hear this but we let ***** know that the floor was polished properly, we did the proposed work to the specifications of our quote and industry standards, and our opinion of the floor is that it was a good job, it looked good in the many pictures of the finished floor we analyzed, and it was done correctly. I feel like ***** had unreasonable expectations with how polished concrete looks.

There was not a remedy to try and fix what ***** was complaining about short of trying to completely re-do the entire job (which would likely have a similar look) or re-do the floor with a different grind and seal option and ***** did not want to pay to have us re-do the entire job and RAD is not going to re-do a job for free that we installed correctly.

To try and make an effort to satisfy *****, I was prepared to offer a 10% discount.  ***** told his estimator **** he wanted a 40% discount. RAD was not obligated to offer any discount to ***** at this point and a 40% discount was an unreasonable request. I decided I would offer ***** a 20% discount even though he had already negotiated a lower price, even though this job had higher costs due to being out of town work, and even though the discount removed all profit from the job after our overhead and job costs.  ***** accepted the discount.  I mailed him a check for 20% of the job (***** unusually wanted to pay in Silver. With him being hours away from our main service area, this was not practical for me to ship or drive the 20% Silver discount to his house so I sent him a check).  As soon as he cashed the check he decided to get online and make complaints.

I'm sorry that your expectations were not met *****.  I am not going to continue to discount more money to you.

I am rejecting this response because: In response to RAD's reply, They are correct I did agree to a discounted price which was in the amount of 495 ounces of silver which at the current market value at the time was approx. $13,255.00. RAD's bid was for $ *********. Roughly a $ ****** discount as many business owners do a discount for a cash payment. Yes ********** did agree, and knew that payment was to be made in silver bullion. I was assured a professional job. I did my reasearch by looking at other polished concrete floors, consulted several concrete experts, and reasearching the polishing process before contacting RAD. I do have 32 years experience in the construction industry but do admit I'm not a concrete polishing expert. The project is not correct. Gouges, grind marks and low luster finish are not acceptable.  The employees did a very good job protecting the baseboards and the calking in the saw cuts is excellent. Unfortunately the employees were in a hurry to get home and did'nt spend the time to do a complete job as they spent considerable time sitting on my patio on their phones.

I waited over 2 weeks for a response from RAD and over a week to hear about a decision from the owner. I asked repeatedly for someone to please come look at my project to no avail. I was professional and well mannered during the process. I did agree to accept the 20 percent offer as I had no choice. RAD had all my silver and my hands were tied. Of course I waited until I received payment from RAD as I was concerned I would receive nothing if I complained before I was paid.  The project looks like an amateur did the work. I'm sorry ********** feels he did a quality project but that is not the case. Why wouldn't RAD send a represenative if he was sure of the quality. I would be happy to cover RAD's expenses if someone could visit my house and convince me this is a quality finish. Offer is still open by the way. I did send ********** more pictures. My request for a return of $5,069.00, (180 silver rounds) of silver was not unreasonable for this level of quality.

      Sincerely
      *************************
