In early 2021, I brought my ****** to ******* for maintenance. They gave me a list of work they recommended I get done in the near future, including having the heads redone. I was told it would take 3-4 days. 10 days and an entire week of missed work later, I picked it up. Two days later, the serpentine belt fell off. In a hurry and not wanting to miss yet more work, I called my dad (who is a mechanic) and he hurried over to replace it so I could continue work that day. He found that both the idler pullies were not tightened, and that I was almost completely out of oil. I called the manager of ******* at the time (*******) and he came out to look it over and fill up my oil. He told me to bring it to the shop and he would give it a once over. When I arrived, he allowed me into the back of the shop, where (not comfortingly) I saw a message written on the whiteboard to the effect of "quit making stupid mistakes that are costing us money". He looked the car over, said it was fine. A few days after that, a huge plume of smoke came out of the exhaust pipe. I called ******* again and sent him a video. He came to my house, said it was ok to drive and took it to the shop. A few days later (more missed work) he told me there was a valve that had come defective from the manufacturer and they replaced it. My car continued to run oddly through the summer, and began devouring oil quickly. I reached out to ******* again, but he quit responding to me. In Dec '21 I was in town for the holidays and my engine ran out of oil completely and was destroyed. I did not take it back to *******. The shop I took it to instead said that the head work that had been done by ******* was not right and was the reason my engine had failed. The machinist he works with confirmed this. Replacing the engine has cost me nearly 5k. I am looking for ******* to pay for this, but they are avoiding all of my attempts to speak with the manager. I have called almost every day for weeks and have not heard back.
