Hi ****! Thanks for reaching out about this! We received a tent from you earlier in 2023, a Eureka tent. The tent was rejected due to condition and then donated when no action was taken on the item. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns – we are always happy to help wherever we can. Thanks, *****  Customer Service E: ***********************  W: Geartrade.com I gave my Eureka Space tent to my friend **** ***** in January of last year. He sent it to Geartrade. Geartrade did not respond to him for months....I kept asking him what happened to the tent...he said they were appraising it...HE ASKED THEM where the tent is and they did not answer...the tent was in excellent condition bought by a doctor and worth $450.00. They did not appraise the tent or respond to **** ***** for months...**** told me they just sent him the above response- that they "DONATED" my tent- without MY PERMISSION and they contacted **** for months to tell him they were doing so HE SAID THEY NEVER CONTACTED HIM! So they lied to him and they gave away my property without my permission or his permission

It appears that this customer is actually using our service and communicating with us through another customer of ours, so sorry for the delay!  Here is the correspondence we have had with that customer so far (see screenshot attached).

When customers send us items for sale, we communicate with them via automated system emails to keep them updated through the process. When we received their tent, their tent was rejected because it did not meet the criteria of items we accept, which can be found here:

      ****************************************************

In this case, the tent was too old and the actual material of the tent was deteriorating and starting to fall apart.  Because of this, it could not be resold.

We let the customer know that their item was rejected and at this point we gave them the opportunity to receive the item back or donate the item.  We know people don't always see these emails, so we actually send a few emails to remind them. Since the customer did not take action on their item, their tent was donated per our terms, which states: " If an item is rejected and you do not respond to requests from Geartrade to either have the item sent back or donated after 15 days, the item may be donated or recycled at Geartrade's discretion."

You can view these terms here: ******************************************************

As a result, this item was donated to the rescue mission in Salt Lake City, UT.  Unfortunately, this customer contacted us around 8 months later, so there was nothing we could do to get it back. We hope they understand and we're happy to answer any other questions they might have.

      Thanks,
      Rob

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because

This is not at all acceptable...sorry...**** ***** stated he received no such messages from you no emails whatsoever.

      PERIOD.

Noone gave you permission to sell the item..

The item was not old and deteriorated- it was perfectly usable....

You never sent any evaluation of the item since it was received 8 months ago...

It is your responsibility to make sure the person who gave you the item receives your emails before you take action.

      You did not do this..

There is no proof the tent was old and deteriorated- in fact I was informed the tent was usable and in excellent condition...

There is no proof of your emails sent to **** *****

      He did not receive them..

Therefore- both of your statements may be fine to you but not to me

You have misappraised my property and then decided without permission to steal it from me.
