I went to City Creek mall to have dinner and do some shopping. I’d just gotten out of visiting a friend in the U of U Hospital ICU. I decided to take advantage of the 2 hour free parking in the garage and was given a small paper receipt when I entered. After about an hour and a half of shopping, I returned to my car only to notice that I’d misplaced my receipt. I Drove to the parking garage exit and selected the “lost or missing ticket” option. To my surprise, it wouldn’t let me leave without paying $20 for 10 hours worth of parking. This seemed ridiculous so I talked to customer service. They explained, that their policy had recently changed to assume that anyone who lost their ticket had been there the whole day. This was incredibly frustrating. I decided to check if I had ever agreed to this policy. If I had known about it I would have been doubly sure not to lose my ticket. I looked everywhere for somewhere that mentioned this policy. I read the entire terms and agreements and FAQ on the Citycreek Parking website. It says nothing about charging you $20 for a missing ticket. I came back to the parking garage the next week and read the signs coming in and the entirety of the text on a new ticket. Nothing. It’s extremely dishonest for this company to not advertise this policy. It should be clear to anyone entering the parking garage that losing a ticket will lead to your car being detained until you pay a $20 fine. At a minimum the policy should be described in their terms and agreements.

On 8/26/22 I paid for parking at 5:19PM and selected the maximum time for $8.00. I was in a hurry to get to work at The Depot and have parked many times across the street in this parking area. I threw the receipt on my dashboard and headed to work. I came out to my car and noticed a parking ticket on the car stating I had not paid. I promptly sent a notification to City Creek Parking and indicated I had paid for my parking. The merchant responded to my dispute and indicated the ticket expired at 6:01 pm. Apparently, you must pay for parking again after 6pm and so my maximum pay of $8 was only good for 41 minutes. Had a paid after 6 pm my $8.00 would have covered my entire evening? I believe this practice is deceptive and did not see any signs posted indicating there was a "cutoff" time, nor is this indicated as a prompt in the kiosk when you pay.

I paid for parking at the kiosk, I typed in the incorrect license plate #, as my vehicle was across the parking lot and there was a large line, and I was running late for a youth basketball tournament held in the parking lot across the street, I couldn't cancel, run across the lot, and run back to stand in line, or I would of been late registering my team for the tournament. So I placed my ticket in my window, clearly for the parking agents to see (They actually took a photo of the ticket in the citation), I appealed the citation and they denied to citation due to "Non-Payment of $8.00". this denial is false, as I did make the payment personally. There was NO warning saying the license plate was a requirement, there was no instructions on what was required and what was not... I have now screen shot my bank statement and sent in another appeal. They have no appeal phone-line, this is clearly a way to scam people. seeing the ticket in my window, and still giving me a ticket for something I paid for.
