    On 7/12/2023 my husband and I and our three young children went to the dealership to check out a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder at the dealership that I had been in communication with salesman Kevin about for a week or so. This vehicle had a clean title but damage reported on the vehicle history report which I had requested a copy of. I asked specifically about the damage on the phone and in person. I told him we wanted to make sure the damage whatever it was was repaired and was not anything major. Kevin told us if no damage and I have since learned that a mechanic had checked the vehicle for the dealership. Kevin told us that when a vehicle has damage reported but no accident it is likely a small parking lot incident or scratch. I asked him multiple times about damage and he never informed us of any. We trusted the vehicle history report they provided and Kevins assurance that there was no damage and that the vehicle was a great find and the fact that it was only a year old and that it was likely under manufacturer warranty still which I confirmed that it was only days later. We bought the vehicle that evening and as we drove it the next few days we became more concerned about a noise and it seemed to increase. We called to take it into our mechanic and the soonest we were able to get it in was 7 days from the date of purchase. Our trusted mechanic was very busy and short staffed but he finally was able to check the vehicle out and found that the vehicle had a new front axle. The front suspension was also reconstructed, but with the wrong pieces. After taking this all apart, they found a big crack in the transmission case and transmission fluid leaking, giving the appearance that the other repairs were to cover up the transmission damage. We kept Kevin informed of everything and once it was confirmed the extent of the damage and that the base quote to replace the transmission was $10,000 we were avoided and finally told they couldn’t do anything for us.
