I contacted Pet Door Products last July for a quote on having a pet door installed in our home. They sent someone out who gave us a quote and said it would take 3-4 weeks to have the door built and delivered for installation. Since we had vacation coming up I told them it was necessary this be done so we didn’t need to hire a pet sitter. I was told worst case 4-6 weeks maximum, which would have been tight, but would have worked for us. I paid a 50% deposit and waited. And waited.. and waited some more. Finally in mid September I sent them a message asking for an update. They said our pet door was ready and they would be calling soon to schedule. I waited some more. Then after waiting for what I believed was a ridiculous amount of time for a pet door, I contacted another company. That other company came out and gave me a quote that was half the cost, and was installed before Pet Door Products could deliver their same product. When I contacted them to tell them that I was cancelling their order, they told me that the supplier they used for the halls messed up our door but that the door was finally ready and they wanted to come out and install it, and I told them I had already contacted another vendor and they were half the price and that I wanted to cancel the order. I called my credit union and disputed the charge for non-delivery based on the verbal commitments that were made, and VISA and the credit union approved the dispute. Now over a year later, I am being harassed by a debt collector that Pet Door Products hired to intimidate me into paying $1500+ to pay for a door that was never delivered, never installed, was cut wrong and delayed several weeks. This company has issues with their suppliers causing delays for their customers and use an open ended contract without dates to intimidate customers into paying for something that is vaporware. I want the collections threats dropped, and no further contact from Pet Door Products or their associates.
