I have been receiving email collection notices from a company named WeCollect for over a year. They are seeking to collect a $450 charge on 12/19/19 which they claim was denied by my credit card. The show an old credit card number which was closed and replaced by the credit card company well before 12/19/19 after their accounts had been compromised. WeCollect says the $450 charge was for Online Web Support Services (Virus & Spyware Removal, Tune-Up & Software Troubleshooting). I am a 74 year old woman, long retired, and have used the same local Computer Support person for years. I don't need expensive on-line support. I have communicated this to WeCollect and on numerous occasions asked them to provide me with specific details about this charge - the company's name, specific detail about the services, etc. An actual billing invoice from the company would be nice. My latest notice from WeCollect shows the client as "Fourth Ridge LLC" and the service provided as Online Web Support Services (Virus & Spyware Removal, Tune-Up & Software Troubleshooting). I think this is a scam and would like to stop receiving these collection notices. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter. ********* *****

      Dear BBB & Consumer,

Thank you for contacting us. We have shared the details with the consumer as per request. We also would like to bring into the notice that we have shared the details many times with the consumer but never received a response. However, we are willing to resolve the matter amicably and we have already offered the consumer a settlement offer. We have been sharing the details with consumer along with collections notices, but all reminders and notices were ignored from last one (1) year. Note- This communication is from a debt collector and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

      Dear Consumer & BBB,

Thank you for reaching us out with a concern. We have shared the original invoice with the consumer on 3/3/2022 as requested by the consumer. The original invoice contains all the information of the services which were rendered by our client Fourth Ridge LLC dated 12/19/2019. The consumer took the service by contacting our client and after the service when the consumer provided the card details to charge the payment of $450 it got declined. Since, then the account is pending as unpaid and a year ago the account was sent to the collections agency which is us "WeCollect". We sent many notices to the consumer, also tried to contact the consumer on the number which was provided by her i.e. ###-###-#### and left so many messages but we never received any response from the consumer until now. We have already offered a settlement to the consumer of $337.50 to pay and close the account. Our client Fourth Ridge LLC also tried to contact the consumer via email and calls, even they sent the invoices to the consumer also. The Terms were clearly informed to the consumer before providing any service that, if the payment gets declined or it does not get paid by the consumer then, the account will be sent to the collection agency. Consumer has breached the Terms of Service with our client and is still liable to pay the outstanding debt. We as a collections agency are not asking the consumer to pay the balance in full, we are asking her to pay the settlement amount to close this matter. We can be reach on ###-###-#### between 8 to 5 Eastern, Monday to Friday.

Note: This communication is from the debt collector, and any information is obtained will be used for that purpose.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I shared the Fourth Ridge LLC invoice sent to me on 3/3/22 with the computer technician who has serviced my computer for years.  He said the invoice and charges were a hoax, and said to ignore their emails. I suppose my complaint should have been against Fourth Ridge LLC as opposed to WeCollect.  However, my complaint still stands.  Before WeCollect contacted me, I had never heard of Fourth Ridge LLC.  I don't know how WeCollect or Fourth Ridge LLC obtained my personal information, but the credit card number billed was not even for a valid card.  My credit card company (Chase) replaced that card number with a new card earlier in 1999 after Chase had undergone a data breech.

I don't see any point in taking this complaint any further.  I did not incur the charges and will not pay the bill, and see no point in further discussion.

Thank you for your kind assistance in attempting to resolve the matter.

      Sincerely,
      ***** *****
