I feel compelled to share my deeply unsettling experience with Craftsman Auto of McLean. My encounter with this business was nothing short of a nightmare, and I urge everyone to steer clear of them. Upon noticing a rattling noise and a check engine light in my car, I decided to trust Craftsman to assess the issue. I explained the situation to their staff, emphasizing the need for a thorough analysis to ensure our safety. To my astonishment, Craftsman assured me that the car was completely safe, save for worn-out struts and a slightly loose tie rod, which they claimed were the sole culprits behind the rattling noise. The mechanic assured me that my car was perfectly safe to drive and would be in perfect working order once those issues were fixed. I was a little perplexed by the loose tie rod since I had them replaced less than 2 years ago and they were still under warranty at the different mechanic. I trusted their assessment and picked up my car the same day. The very next day, as I went to drop my kids off at daycare, my worst fears came true. The rattling intensified and the car suddenly stalled, creating a harrowing situation. The incompetence exhibited by Craftsman Auto mechanics are simply unforgivable. Not only did they fail to properly diagnose the problem, but their assurances of the car's safety were completely misleading. It is inconceivable that they would overlook crucial issues that compromised the drivability of the vehicle, potentially putting innocent lives at risk. This incident underscores Craftsman Auto's complete disregard for customer safety. To make matters worse, when I reached out to express my grievances, their response was dismissive and indifferent, showing no remorse for the grave consequences of their actions. I implore all potential customers to think twice before entrusting their vehicles to Craftsman Auto. Their failure to accurately diagnose and rectify issues, coupled with their indifference towards customer safety, is a disgrace.
