On April 6, 2022, I requested Teneisha P********* to braid my hair. We discussed cost and prices for each step of the process: the style, tribal braids, are $200. I wanted purple hair that was a $20 add-on. The total of the style was $220. I paid $110 online through the website on April 6, 2022; it's her policy to pay half of the total cost as a deposit. On April 8, 2022, my appt was supposed to be at 2 pm. Teneisha texted me to say she was going to be late and I should come at 5:30 pm. I asked for her to braid my hair small, which would've been an additional fee, for free because of the inconvenience. She agreed to the addition for free. I sent Teneisha pictures of the style I wanted. She said she could do it. After she was done, it was April 9, 1:00 am. I was going out of town that day so I didn't stay to analyze the style. I paid her the remainder of the cost and left. The next morning I saw my hair was very different from what I asked for: cornrows were nothing like the picture. I brushed it off because I was going out of town & couldn't get it changed. On April 14, I got an email from my bank saying I used $140 instead of the $110 I approved for the purchase. I immediately requested a refund from Teneisha & texted her for an explanation. She said the charge was for thick hair, an addition on her website. Be that as it may, we did not discuss a "thick hair" upcharge. I would've expected her to tell me before the charge instead of adding to the total & letting me find out from my bank. I tried to reason with her but she refused to cooperate, she said she'll "make adjustments for her next clients but her policy is her policy and she doesn't repeat it for people who can read". I consider that to be very unprofessional being that she was found on Styleseat.com and lures customers away from the platform so she can control how she charges clients. This is an abuse of the platform she uses to gain notoriety and it's a breach of privacy when she stole money from me.
