Car was towed to Shirlington Shell for transmission repair. Shirlington Shell would not release the car until $250.59 was paid, no work done other than the tow, which was $80. The rest was simply extortion. I want a refund. A police report has been filed.Business response

CAR WAS TOWED IN FOR PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING. THIS IS A AFTERMARKET WARRANTY PROGRAM. CUSTOMER ARE TOLD THAT THERE IS A FEE TO CHECK IT. THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY THE FEE UNLESS THE WARRANTY COMPANY PICKS THE FEE UP. AFTER CHECKING THE CAR, WE FOUND THE TRAN IS SLIPPING AND NEEDS A TRAN. THE WARRANTY COMPANY WILL ONLY PAY THE DEALER LIST PRICE FOR PARTS. WE CALLED PASSPORT FOR A QUOTE, GIVING THEM THE VIN, YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. WE ALSO GAVE THE THE PART NUMBER FOR THE TRAN. WE WERE TOLD THE PRICE BUT ALSO TOLD THE TRAN WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND MAY NOT BE AVAILABE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. WE THEN CALL A TRAN REBUILDER AND THE PRICE WAS MUCH HIGHER. THE WARRANTY COMPANY WOULD NOT OK THE PRICE. CUSTOMER CAME IN AND WAS VERY MAD AND ALSO NASTY. WE ESPLAINED WHAT HAT HAPPEN AND HE THINKS WE WERE NOT TELLING HIM THE TRUTH. HE HAD CALLED A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE TRAM WAS AVAILABLE AND THE PRICE WAS IN THE RANGE THE WARRANTY COMPANY WOULD PAY. WE CALLED PASSPORT AND TALK TO MATT, THE PARTS MANAGER AND HIS EXPLANATION WAS THAT SOMEONE HAD MADE A MISTAKE WITH THE QUOTE. THE TRAN WAS AVAILABLE. CUSTOMER DOES NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE ABOVE. WE DID TAKE THE CHECKOUT OFF THE BILL AND HE HAS NOT PAID US A NICKLE. THERE WAS A MISTAKE MADE BUT WE HAVE NOT CHARGED OR TRIED TO CHANGE CUSTOMER AFTER HE WAS IN
