I hired MasterHome Work Inc in July 2022 to undertake several home improvement projects for my house in the light of a future sell. I knew the company’s owner *** ***** ****** as he did some projects for my late partner in the past so I believed he was a reliable person. The home projects consisted of painting all the rooms and completing minor home improvements. The whole project estimate was $14,000. As per his request, I gave *** ****** a deposit of $7,000 which was paid electronically via Zelle. As I couldn't immediately vacate the house, we agreed on a partial completion of the projects and remaining part later when I could vacate the house. Upon partial home project completion, I noticed the poor painting quality of the job performed. As shown by uploaded pictures, the previous painting can still be seen underneath the new one. I asked ********* for explanations, and he responded that he would have taken a look at such a claim and address whatever was not done properly. *** ****** never came to look at the poor quality job. Instead, he sent me an invoice for an additional payment for future projects. I was very hesitant to give him more money but since I believed he was a reliable person, I paid him the required fee. He then promised me again that he would have addressed all the painting that I was not satisfied with when the home project resumed. As the home project could have been finally resumed I called *** ****** to notify him of such an event, but he totally ignored me. I also sent him emails and texts without receiving a response. He finally answered my call on November 13th, 2022 and refused to continue the project. I offered him to address this issue peacefully by issuing a refund for me of the additional $4,500 for the undone projects but he totally ignored my request. At this point, due to the poor job and stress caused by this whole situation. I would like to be refunded the entire $11,500.
