I visited Dr. ***************** in a Visual Affair on the 8th of August 2022. Dr. ************ was "in network" for my insurance provider, meaning I was on the hook for a $20 copay, which I immediately paid. This should have been the end of the "affair", which, unfortunately, has since become an "ordeal". The latest development in the saga being a text message I received on Jan 10th, 2023 advising of an overdue balance and threatening that "you (sic!) will be sent to collections". I will post more detailed feedback warning clients about dealing with this business elsewhere (we're talking many hours wasted over the course of several months), so what follows is a summary. In short, the business issued an incorrect invoice, which was rejected by my insurer (the invoice was from "A Visual Affair" which is not "in network" for me, as opposed to coming from Dr. *************** office, which would have been "in network" for me). "Visual Affair" staff clearly found the situation difficult to comprehend, so, despite being given step by step instructions (multiple times), it took them over three months of almost weekly interactions to finally issue the correct invoice. Once done (November), the claim was paid in full (I confirmed with my insurance provider that funds were wired to "A Visual Affair" on Nov 18th, 2022).Despite being sent emails providing evidence of payment (Dec 9th, 10:45am), and most recently (following receipt of the threatening text message), despite two phone calls to that effect, "Visual Affair" staff has failed to get back to me confirming the matter is settled. Which, based on my experience so far, leads me to believe that they have still failed to process the payment correctly. What I seek is: i) confirmation in writing from "A Visual Affair" that they have received payment in full and that matters are settled, and ii) if they have initiated any action to collect (what has already been paid), that all related activity has been terminated.
