We placed an order for a table from Basset Mirror in July 2021, the table arrived and had a manufactures defect. Basset was contacted and a replacement top was sent out, however the shipping company damaged the table top and it was returned by request of Basset. At that time any replacement parts had been out of stock until October 2021. I received a shipping notification on October 5th and was not aware until then this was shipping, no one would be available to receive this until October 23rd. I contacted Basset within an hour of receiving the shipping notification and they indicated that nothing could be done. Now the shipping company is wanting to charge $30 a day for holding the piece whenI contacted Basset about this they said this was my fault that I should have let them know no one was available to receive this. I'm not sure how this could be my fault as I was not notified of anything prior and had no knowledge this would ship. All I want is to have the replacement top.Business response

I am honestly taken aback that Bassett Mirror Company is being reported for this issue. We have in good faith taken care of replacing Mr. ********** customer’s dining top, and when the trucking company notified us that the recipient was out of town, we paid the storage charges that accrued until the top could be delivered. The top was delivered last Monday in good condition and we now consider this matter closed. I don’t know how we could have handled this matter any differently, we ship hundreds of packages a day it is not feasible to call each customer individually to make sure they will be at home and available to accept their shipment. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. On a side not had the business informed me of this a complaint would not have been filed.
