Our home, built in 1937, needed lots of love and a professional painter. It wasn't an easy job. Brittany assured us that she could fix it, and that's exactly what she and her two painters did. The house required a great deal of preparation before painting began. It was obvious that details were important from the beginning. Brittany was very helpful with color choices, and with accents and ideas that we would not have thought of, but we are appreciative of her knowledge and artistry. She wanted us to be happy and all the hard work gave us the beautiful interior we wanted. Integrity, professionalism, talented and easy to work with. We highly recommend Southern Charm Painting.

My husband signed a contract on March 22,2022 and gave a $500 cash deposit to Brittany ******** (Brown) owner of Southern Charm Painting. On March 29, 2022 we put a contract on a house. **** called Brittany on April 1, 2022 and asked her if we could get our deposit back since we were moving. Brittany said she would think about it over the weekend. Mike contacted her again on April 6, 2022 and she said she was sticking with the contract and her no refund policy. The contract didnt give us specific dates for the work. It said June or July that they were very busy. I don't think us cancelling messed her up since it was so soon after signing it. She would have plenty of time to book more work. In VA you have 3 business days to cancel a contract we weren't too far out. We are retired seniors, I wonder if this has happened to anyone else? Life happens and situations change. She offered to paint a 10x20 ft room for $500 in new house but that house is painted already. We can't rate her work because we didn't have any done, she just kept the money. We want our deposit back. Thank you

Mrs. ******, I dont understand your desire to try to make this situation look like I have in someway done you intentional harm or tried to take advantage of you. Your dates are wrong, not that it matters, your Husband signed the Contract March 21st and I recieved the Contract and Deposit March 22nd. You attempted to cancel the contract April 1st. The Contract YOU SIGNED AND AGREED TO, specifically states the deposit GUARANTEES the work to be completed within the TIMEFRAME given, if YOU cancel, the Deposit is NONREFUNDABLE. If every customer did what you have done, I, nor anyone else would be able to run a business. I offered an alternative so you wouldnt just be out of your deposit completely that I did not have to do! You also forget to state that BEFORE you called me on April 1st to Cancel YOU HAD ALREADY HIRED ANOTHER PAINTER TO COMPLETE THE WORK! If anyone should be upset about this experience it should be me! Rest assured, no one with any business sense or common sense will read your review and think any less of my actions with this situation, but they may of you. Leaving a one star review for a situation that was completely of your making and then trying to make it look like I in someone did you a disservice or took advantage of you is dispicable and you should be ashamed of yourself. I have spent my entire life building my company and relationships from it and I NEVER take advantage of anyone and I am NEVER dishonest with my customers or anyone else for that matter. I am an award winning company and I dont think I would be if I was anything like what you are attempting to make me out to be. Lastly, It will take me more than $500.00 of my time and gas to fill the void you created. Its why business have contracts and MOST dont refund deposits.
