      I had an appointment with Dr. ****** ****** on 5/6. The provider walked out before the appointment was over. She did not allow me to ask questions, did not address the issue I was referred to her for, and talked over me when I tried to speak. She was horribly rude and unprofessional. I let the office know after neither my insurance nor I should be billed for that visit since the provider walked out. They billed my insurance $349.00. And they billed the visit under a pediatric office in another location. They billed as LGP Pediatrics in Daleville. This is not a pediatric office, it is a gynecologist and in Blacksburg, not Daleville. I did not get to address my issues so there should have been no charge.

      I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Their response states that someone from LewisGale Physicians has been in contact with me to resolve this. That has NOT occurred. No one from LewisGale has been in contact with me regarding this issue to attempt to resolve it. Therefore, my complaint with the BBB has not been addressed by the business in question. I want to reiterate that the provider walked out of my appointment abruptly and did not address my issues, concerns, or allow me to ask questions. I notified them of what had occurred immediately after and explained that the visit should not be billed to my insurance since the service that was supposed to be provided was not. They billed my insurance anyway. And they billed for a 40-54 minute visit that was less than 5.  Regards, ******** *****

      Out of courtesy, the patient's bill was adjusted on 6/4. The claim was submitted to the patient, from insurance, on 6/3, after the BBB complaint was filed.

      I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I have no idea what their response even means. My insurance was billed and paid for a visit that was not completed and the provider abruptly just walked out of the room. This is unacceptable. You all should not be paid for a visit where the service/medical care was not provided. She essentially walked in and out of the room. My issues were not addressed, I was not afforded the opportunity to speak or ask any questions. How do you all deserve to get paid for that? This seems entirely inappropriate and I’m questioning the legitimacy of a business that would do this. You should not get paid when NOTHING was done for me.  Regards, ******** *****

They billed the full amount to my insurance my insurance paid. Since service was never completed, she walked out of my appointment and did not address my issues, I feel like this should not have occurred. I made my the office manager, **** *****, aware of what happened and told the office my insurance should not be billed for this. Yet here we are. Including screenshot below. There was no adjustment and I did not have to pay out of pocket (I had already hit my max out of pocket for the year). And I don’t understand why they would bill under a pediatric office. They did the same when I was there in January. Again, this provider abruptly walked out of my appointment and did NOTHING for me.
